● Hello, this is Restoration King.

Today, we will show you every corner of Seoul from 1984–1985.

It took a great deal of time to restore these small, damaged, and blurry photos into clear, vivid images of the time.

These photos are from about 40 years ago.
As you will see in the video, many buildings from back then still exist today.

That is why we conducted extensive research to show both the past and present locations together.

Back then, with just 1,000 won, you could enjoy a bowl of jjajangmyeon for 600 won and a cup of coffee at a dabang for 400 won.

Today, we’ll show you Seoul from 40 years ago – from Gangnam to Gangbuk, Gangdong, and Gangseo.

Photos from that time are quite rare.

This was because film developing and printing costs were expensive.

When visiting a photo studio, people usually did not print every shot from the film roll.
Only the well-taken photos, mostly with people in them, were printed according to the number of family members.

That is why many old photos you find at home focus on people rather than surrounding landscapes.
