This interview was done at a time when Jimmy Saville was the biggest BBC star and a colleague of Sue Lawley. Instead of being a sanctimonious Interviewer, Sue Lawley should have been doing a proper journalistic job and investigated all the rumours around Saville. Her interview here was a disgrace.
I knew Christine in Chelsea in the 1980s we lived in the same neighbourhood and shared the same local amenities. Regardless of her previous choices in life she was a very sensitive, quiet, refined and dignified lady. Of course everyone locally knew her past, but I can truly say hands on heart she was a lovely human being. Her whole world in the late 1970s early 1980s when I knew her was the welfare of her son. rest in peace dear lady
Wow. I know it was 30 years ago since this interview but Sue Lawleys approach to interview Christine Keeler is just dripping with judgement. Full marks to Keeler for holding her own.
Sue Lawley was always an obnoxious and judgemental interviewer. She was misguided by believing that being obnoxious and rude gave her an edge, when in fact it made her look extremely foolish.
RIP Christine, you showed real style in this interview and will always be blameless in my eyes. Christine's life shows how the establishment protects itself at the expense of the innocent working class.
I actually came across this by chance and was enamored by the way this woman, in the truest sense of the word, handled herself - with integrity. Every bloodline has been a victim of "grooming" and projected guilt. The presenter tried to belittle this woman. The only person she belittled, was herself.
Sue Lawley is an appalling interviewer .... I listen to her old interviews on Desert Island Disc and gasp at how cold, rude and dismissive she is. Christine Keeler comes accross very well here and John Hurt looks like he wants to kill Lawley .... he seems very protective of Christine. RIP John and Christine
