This award-winning short, The Anointed One: Mary of Bethany, explores the anointing of Jesus' feet by Mary of Bethany, offering an emotional and cinematic portrayal of her love, devotion, and surrender to Jesus as described in the New Testament Gospels. In an extraordinary act of worship, Mary pours a costly perfume over Jesus, drawing criticism from those around her. Her story is a powerful reminder of the courage it takes to remain faithful to your convictions, even in the face of ridicule.
We shot this short film in one day. Our goal was to make a short biblical film that didn't detract or add too much from the Bible itself. We really wanted the bible to write the script and tell the story. NO AI was using in the making of this short film!

It was somewhere between 3–4 a.m. when I held on to my little faith, praying and weeping. Somehow, I felt a darkness telling me not to let go, but God wanted me to let go, so I was battling with it. I called to Him many times, and He came. I felt His peace and His presence. He asked me if I was okay, and then He told me, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
When He said this to me, I didn’t know at the time that it was a Bible verse, but I could feel it came from Scripture. And I wasn’t even reading the Bible at that time, I was just receving daily Bible verses and prayers from an app I downloaded, but I still wasn't kind of serious with my faith. Few days later, I found out that it truly was a Bible verse—Luke 7:50. I read the story behind it, and I realized it was just like me, it kind of resonated with my situation.
Later this month, I was struggling and found myself reflecting on my testimony. Late at night, I was praying to Jesus Christ, showing my vulnerable and raw self to Him. Then, I felt something telling me to keep reading, and this story (Luke 7:36–50) was right in front of me. So I read it, but before I reached Luke 7:50, I wrote something down: “Jesus told me that He looks at our faith, not our sins.” When I reached the very end of the story, the last verse of that chapter was Luke 7:50, and it was connected to what I had written.
So I want to share what Jesus Christ has told me lately: that He no longer looks at our sins but at our faith. Because He has already washed away our sins by His death and resurrection. He is simply looking at us, wanting us to believe in what He did on the cross. And when we do, we will be saved and receive eternal life.
