One in five people in Hong Kong suffers from eczema. Led by Professors Yuen Kwok-yung and Ko Yat-tsun, a team from the Department of Microbiology at the University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Medicine spent nearly 10 years developing an eczema moisturizing cream.
"The biggest problem is that all current eczema medications attempt to interfere with our immune system," says Ko Yat-tsun, Associate Professor of Microbiology at the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong, the protagonist of this episode of #ChatBrand.
To break through the limitations of traditional medicine, Professor Ko and Professor Yuen formed a bond 20 years ago, and a shared philosophy became the impetus for the brand's launch—"coexisting with bacteria."
The launch of this moisturizing cream not only benefits eczema sufferers but also marks a significant milestone in Professor Ko's more than 20 years of research career. "The real philosophy is that we believe that if we do well in research, we can reduce the impact of infectious diseases on humanity."
