About Mira Han, In Wings of Liberty you find out that technically Matt is married to Mira because they were playing poker and he didnt know that who ever won she would marry and he won without knowing. Thats why its "complicated".

I love how you guys described the Heart of the Swarm as the heart of Kerrigan.

Best part of the reaction: when they say that Jim was executed and you both just went "NO!!!" in unison))) It's really endearing to see you guys invest so much emotion into the story and to see you care so much about those characters and root for the good guys))

Beth: "Kerrigan's butt rocks."
The internet: agrees

The Zagara/Kerrigan dynamic is fun, and the other Zerg characters and Zagara all get more development during the missions and in scenes that were not shown here. Abathur in particular is quite endearing, he's seen often when the player visits the upgrade screen.

31:24 The editor should have added the part where that Protoss arrives to the ship and morphs into a zerg larva, to keep the sequence within context

1:07:50 Hearing this made me so happy. Generally ladies scoff at video games and Bethany's reaction feeling happy and pumped was simply amazing.

Even as the most heavily fortified planet in the sector, nothing survives the full power of the Swarm. Last time this happened, the Protoss lost their homeworld.

I also love that Jim let Kerrigan take her revenge instead of him killing Mengsk even though he's been saving that bullet.

1:05:12 I always laugh, when I see that Jim just closes his exterior Nuke shield, knowing that sh*t gonna blow soon :DD

if you remember from the SC1 recap: duran, the guy who betrayed the terrans (and killed stukov, the russian-military-dude-infested) is narud (just his name backwards)

Kerrigan wanted revenge on Mengsk and doubled down when she heard Raynor was killed. She turned herself back into the Queen of Blades. By the time she learned Jim was alive, it was too late. She had gone full zerg and sacrificed her generic humanity. She could not turn herself back, and she was one or two worlds away from attacking Mengsk

Jim was pissed, but helped her. She then retired with the swarm away and started amassing power for the final war.

Can't wait for next week. Remember that "Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void - Reclamation" comes before the initial cinematic. It is not included in the hour long compilation of cutscenes, but as a "warbringers" style cinematic I think it is pretty vital for setting the stage. It is one of the deeper ones they've made really.

I feel like there's a couple important scenes that got left out of this movie. Like the Ancient One turning on Kerrigan and both being completely blase about it. And Valerian making Kerrigan back down over the time Orlin was taking to hack the Dominion network. I feel both were important character moments.

Edit: Oh, and Dehaka and his sub plot are entirely absent.

I always saw the ending of HotS as sort of a reverse-western. Instead of the cowboy riding off into the sunset, Kerrigan does. The cowboy stays home.

Glad you two are enjoying this epic space opera of a love story.

It's so cool you picked up on the fact that Kerrigan was mostly angry that Jim was left behind because it happened to her

The best of the three SC2 games.

Stukov's return was a big shock, as his death in Brood War was a bit of a tragedy, and sets the Earth Admiral on a spiral that causes his defeat and suicide (the end cinematic from Brood War is just epic, despite it's age).

@Tazkar 4 years ago

One thing to keep in mind with the Zerg is at this point unless it is a strain like a Broodmother/Queen then they don't tend to have sentience(There are exceptions ofcourse). Without the control of a Queen they revert to basically animalistic instincts and behavior. So there isn't any real attachment to the 'foot soldiers' since they are literally made to be expendable.
One exception is Broken Tusk, the Zergling that showed up in several cutscenes, from what i recall of the Lore he isn't connected to the hive mind anymore and is rather independent.
