16:12 The character has burns across 70% of his body, the voice actor was going for a dry strained voice.

It’s almost like dub actors know what they’re doing and most people are unfairly biased. Wild, I know.

"He sounds like a chainsmoker" his vocal cords are burnt so yeah I do think that's what he was going for.

@maxim_beatbox 1 year ago

Dabi's voice makes sense as he's an actively dying severe burn victim lol

"He (Dabi) sounds like a chain smoker in his 80's"

Well, funny thing about being immolated alive... there is a lot of smoke involved.
Also throat damage.

@SpiderFlash2 1 year ago

The reason why Dabi sounds like that in dub is because he’s lungs and vocal cords were also burned so the voice actor was trying to sound like that

‘It’s my blood!!’ Gaara’s VA went nuts and glad you reacted to my personal favourite scene in dub of light twerking on L’s grave.

@caydenzmyers 2 years ago

You reacted to it! Armin’s English VA is Jessie James Grelle, and he’s absolutely stellar throughout the whole series.

I started watching anime in dub so it has a special place in my heart. My Hero Academia, Death Note, Attack on Titan, Naruto, etc.

0:30 As a Dub watcher myself thank you for nice words, people always tell me that dub is trash and to watch sub

Levi’s English voice actor is the legendary Matt Mercer. He is S class VA. Also you want best English dub moments? Erwin when he gets his arm bitten off.

@AntiChip 1 year ago

Subaru’s i hate myself scene is so good. I get goosebumps everything i hear it. Such a good voice actor.

@Teraclon 2 years ago (edited)

Matt Mercer as Levi is so samn good!

7:04 The silence as you see a sliver of Kaneki’s blood while Nicholas’s horrified face is zoomed into is a crazy shot 😭

OMG DABI'S DANCE THANK YOU NICK! Also, I think it makes sense for Dabi's voice to be scratchy and rough since his throat and vocal chords have at the very least heavy permanent burn damage

@paullenlev 2 years ago

You should actually rewatch Death Note in english. Its one of the best dubs out there, no bad voice actors.

@JadenVixe 2 years ago

Dabi is a chain smoker. He just smokes himself.

One of my favorite dub moments in MHA is Bakugo's breakdown during his rematch with Deku after Allmight lost his ability to power up. That performance, that's perfection imo, when it comes to MHA.
