Today we start on a new Timberborn playthrough! I'll be playing the custom map Timberpunk 2 with the new Iron Teeth colony of the Thornbreakers. And this maps looks absolutely brutal. Thorns and dead trees everywhere with no initial source of water to be found. And to make sure I've having a truly bad day, I've chosen to play on hard mode.

In this first video of the series we're in a race against time to find and secure our first source of water before some unstable cores detonate!

Not a spoiler but a game play tip for this map. You will constantly have "flooded building" on your screen because there's a lot of old reserves throughout the map you may want to click them as they appear and set the storages to "empty" that removes the flooded warning that way you'll only get the warning for ones you actually care about.

The best part is that this is a vanilla map, the aren’t any mods making it artificially more complicated, just clever design

18:00 Just a hint for the aquifer drills: They do not require the full 200 hp to operate, and will instead drill and provide water at a reduced rate when <200. You could get away with either 1 or 2 beavers on the power wheel.

If I remember correctly, that water source being drained through is a negative water source. Water sources with a negative flow value will take water off of the map rather than be a source of water.

Small hint: The Badwater-River in the pit contains a tiny amount of fresh water. So you can (with bad efficiency) pump fresh water from the river!

Looks like a brutal map design! It's good that you started this playthrough right after the previous one on the Pressure map, since you are still used to thinking about how all those caves and bombs are connected, and it will allow you to prepare before things go south. The next episode can't come fast enough!

About the water source at 37:11 : with devmode info, you can see it has a negative value strength, making it more of a middle-of-the-map water "drain" than a "source" of water.
Much weaker than what an usual underground pipe to the edge of the map would be though!
