The Axial SCX30 family is growing again, and this might be my favorite version yet! Meet the brand-new Axial SCX30 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro.

For this release, Axial has taken the familiar SCX30 platform and stretched the chassis to accommodate a properly proportioned Tacoma body—and the result looks fantastic. The scale detail and licensing really make this little truck stand out, while underneath you still get the capable sub-micro crawler platform that has made the SCX30 so much fun.

The new Tacoma is available in two configurations: a crawler and an overlander. We got our hands on the crawler, so in this video we’re taking a close look at all of the details, seeing what’s changed from the previous SCX30 models, and then hitting the rocks to find out whether the longer Tacoma can actually perform.
