This show has the best cinematography, the best score, the best true stories - I wish there were even more seasons, I could watch them endlessly. 👏👏

There were massive ice chunks in the water. The river was in the process of freezing already. An ice floe is what knocked Washington off the raft. It was exhaustively researched by the producers. I’ve played the character twice. In this show and in a feature film based on a novel. The author also did extensive research. Yes it’s a wild concept to think it froze the rest of the way overnight but it’s true

Thank you Mr Gist. We all owe you a debt of gratitude

My grandfather,  seventh one back.
Nice to see this take on it.
Reading my grandfather’s journals and George Washington’s journals lends great insight especially when coupled with what has been passed down through family.
Both great American men!
Rip Grandfather Christofer

Thanks

One of his sons was kidnapped by a native tribe.

Excellent tale about very early  trail frontiersmen.

If all goes well, we can make it to Williamsburg around twenty years time.

That was awesome, they even said the name right.

Awesome!

I loved Christopher Guest in spinal tap. I guess it wasn't only the drummers who were supernatural with their ability to die. Guest was apparently over 200 years old when he made the movie

Very cool

12:00 my luck my horse would have took a dump. 😂

Season 3 now. Really digging INSP entire platform

What is your reason for the pronunciation of Groghan as Crow un? I have only ever heard it pronounced as ns KRAH-guhn. KRAH: Pronounced like the word "craw" or "cro-".guhn: Pronounced as a soft, unstressed "gun”.

No way a river or lake freezes in a few hours thick enough to walk on!!

George Washington's family were closely related to the Spencer's, (the family of Princess/Queen Diana Spencer) , his family having title and peerage.

In the blue water Navy, we were taught that if you end up in water below 40°, you have 4 minutes before you're dead.

you shouldn't carry a flintlock with the muzzle pointed up for a long period of time, especially in the rain. It's tough enough to get them to fire in the rain but when water's been running down the barrel right into the pan, your screwed.

Christopher Gist name should resonate much more than Daniel Boone, Gist was well before Boone. But for some reason the Gist name has been shoved under the rug. My father Richard Mordechai Gist always spoke to us about that fact. It always puzzled him why the Gist name never got the acknowledgement like others, who would have never been able to make thier history if it wasn't for Christopher Gist
