Planning an Alaska Cruise Tour? Before you book your trip, there are some important things you need to know!
In this episode of The Wright Life, we board the Island Princess in Whittier, Alaska, beginning the cruise portion of our Princess Alaska Land & Sea Tour. After traveling through Alaska’s interior by train and motor-coach, including Denali National Park, we set sail southbound toward Vancouver through some of Alaska’s most spectacular scenery.
Since our first few days included scenic cruising, we decided to answer 8 of the most common questions first-time Alaska cruise tour passengers ask—and share what we learned from our own experience.
In this Alaska Cruise Tour Q&A, we cover:
00:01 – Boarding the Island Princess in Whittier
01:16 – What is an Alaska Cruise Tour?
02:24 – How does boarding and luggage handling work?
02:57 – When is the best time to visit Alaska?
04:00 – Northbound vs. Southbound Alaska Cruise Tours
04:57 – What is glacier cruising?
05:52 – Which side of the ship is best?
06:30 – What weather should you expect?
07:29 – What should you pack for an Alaska Cruise Tour?
08:13 – Our final Alaska Cruise Tour tips
We also share our experience traveling southbound from Whittier to Vancouver, including our time in Glacier Bay National Park, scenic cruising, and what we learned about choosing a cabin, dealing with Alaska’s unpredictable weather, packing for the trip, and making the most of your time onboard.
If you’re considering an Alaska cruise, Alaska cruise tour, Princess Alaska Cruise, Denali & Alaska cruise vacation, or a trip through the Inside Passage, we hope this video helps you plan an incredible adventure.
