In 1993 I saw Nirvana in concert. Best concert ever! Also they had the same Go-Go dancer on the side of the stage. That girl danced her butt of. All while the mosh pit, and stage diving was going on. They had no security in front of the stage. Nirvana welcomed people to stage dive. They just kept playing. Fans never even thought of injuring or interfering with the band members. We respected the artists back then...Now they hit you with a taser or stun gun, then chicken wing you if yo approach the stage. I miss those days. There was a sense of magic and wonder in the air back then. Kids today will never get to experience that. How sad that is...

"In Bloom" and "Lithium" would be good Nirvana songs to do. They are quite well known

The energy in this song is fantastic.   Love this song.

I will always love that song.

Good ya listening very much catchy punky tunes😊

Was there, Total Chaos!!!  And the GoGo Dancers were brilliant!!  That this point Seattle was the where New Music was coming from. Living there and growing up in the Middle of it all was a Once in a lifetime moment

This is how Nirvana sounded live... they were raw, unpolished and heavy. Kurt Cobain loved Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Beatles... but he also loved a band called Celtic Frost, an extreme metal band from Switzerland that was raw and unpredictable. Dave Grohl was also a fan of Celtic Frost and they were a band that were not the most accomplished musicians but they could get a club audience going...
I didn't get the Celtic Frost influence when I heard their album 'Morbid Tales'... but when I saw Celtic Frost live, they sounded very similar to what Nirvana did live... Same w/ The Melvins - just a heavy, crushing tone of guitar.

The Melvins were a band that Kurt admired and their guitarist Buzz Osbourne taught him how to play guitar and rehearse... Buzz also introduced Kurt to indie rock bands like Sonic Youth... Pixies ... Killing Joke... and R.E.M. (before they became huge) ...Kurt (as far as I know) wasn't big on punk rock bands like The Sex Pistols, Ramones, or The Misfits... but he liked the punk rock do-it-yourself ethic.

One of the thing Kurt complained about Nirvana's big album 'Nevermind' was that it was 'too polished'... He didn't expect that record to bring in such a huge 'pop' audience... 'Breed' was a popular song from the 'Nevermind' album, alongside 'Smells like Teen Spirit'... 'Come as you are' ... 'Lithium' ... 'In bloom'... 'On a plain'...
Pearl Jam felt the same way about their 1991 album 'Ten' and that producer Rick Parashar had 'polished' their sound too much... Pearl Jam went for a more unpolished, hard rock sound on their 2nd album 'Versus' in 1993 w/ a different producer.
Nirvana also went w/ a different producer Steve Albini, for their 1993 album 'In Utero'... Kurt wanted to sound like they did onstage w/ that record, so that album was raw and heavy, unlike the 'Nevermind' album... and delivered more grit w/ songs like 'Pennyroyal Tea'... 'Radio friendly unit shifter'... 'Serve the servants'... etc.

More typical (but memorable) Nirvana songs include - "Dive"... 'Scoff'... 'Sliver' ... 'About a girl' ... 'Aneurysm'... 'Negative creep'...

Growing up in Olympia I saw Nirvana many times at the North Shore Surf Club ot at the Mods at Evergreen. You would see Kurt around town from time to time. Good times.

One of the best Nirvana show's!!

The 90s >>>>>>>>>>>>>

When she was saying "What is the name?" I was thinking Endless Nameless.

Este es mi concierto favorito de Nirvana, si creo que en post producción le han subido el tono al audio. buen video

“We can plant a house, we can build a tree, I don’t even care we can have all 3 she said” those lyrics are genius!! You can’t plant a house or build a tree and “she” only gave those 2 options, not a third. Another good one is “aneurism” live at paramount!

Its record companies that put labels on groups and artists, nirvana was considered punk just the record companies who label them a new term grunge. Most musicians and artists blended genres back in the day. Now we put them in a certain box and criticize them for daring to go outside of the box we put them in.

Tad is highly underrated

Definitely start with the "basics", then Heart Shaped Box to hear how much they deviated into rawer sounds, then explore

I bought this cassette from a "far away" seller back in 18whatever. I deserve this version or I want my MUNEE BAH!! How dare they tear me from my church-burning duties. Mein guardian angel must be spiriting from a hole sumwares...

Please more Nirvana  Live. Kurt was an incredible songwriter. He was so simple somtimes in his lyrics, but that´s the reason He coneted We a lot of us. Nirvana Live is so much better. But don´t spect entertainers, Nirvana was pure spirit and soul. So much passion.

Nirvana lithium, heart shaped box, sliver, come as you are, where did you sleep last night, smells like teen spirit

You should do a reaction to Slint's song Washer. Crazy good song from a very underrated 90's band
