The time is not just a question of quality of service. You could see empty restaurants where servers wait to give you time, we just expect to take our time if we eat out, and eating in 10/30 min is not a common thing at all in many countries, even at home

Hello from Norway, it's a little different here... Not the easiest country to get casual friends to go out to eat with, we are a bit reserved and in a way we hate small talk... We would never talk to a random stranger on the bus or train or sit next to someone... rather stand. If you ask someone for help with something, you will surely get help, just don't try to start a conversation about how bad you think the weather is or complain about your distress about the latest divorce... Norwegians would probably shake their heads and walk away convinced that you are crazy or something. The best way to get to know Norwegians is possibly to make friends with someone on social media before you come and go with them on excursions around Norway... You can also sign up for Mountain Hikes with a group from one of the many Norwegian Trekking Associations (DNT) and meet Norwegians, we love hiking, if you love hiking? You vill get friends here.

'Europe is NOT a museum.' Great sentence. For 'muricans it's NOT Disneyland there for you entertainment. There are real people live and work there. And they are not there for your costumer service experience.

He forgot to say that in Europe there is no tipping policy like in the US.

How do we meet other people in Europe in a general way ? First tip, go to a bar

Nope. The plugs ain't the same and the voltage is absolutely not the same. There is a difference from 115V to 230V

Also if you talk to a stranger in English, without warning, it will take a few words until we realise you're speaking an other language, so always begin with low information words like "excuse me do you have a minute" or something and don't immediately start with the main point of the sentence.

easy, you go to a bar in the evening, alone or with accompanying person and just start drinking and talking to a bartender and then with some random people there. You find similarities, you discuss politics, or culture or news or anything, then they invite you to join their table or you exchange socials and plan a meeting next day in another place. I've made a lot of foreign friends in my local bar. Just be nice and share genuine emotions with local people and you'll make friends.

He has pretty good information, if you realise he directs his info to people who do not know these things and he has limited time to give the info. There is a simple rule that helps out everywhere: Don't be a jerk.

The 1st point of this video is true - moreover, even inside of each country you will find huge cultural differences. It always amazes me to see videos about "Europe" considered as an homogenous whole by some Americans, saying "Europe is like this/that..." ! I know many regions of my country *, I've been to several european countries, and the variety of our continent and of its inhabitants and cultures is always a great pleasure to discover. * officially : France, but I see myself as a Breton not a Frenchman - but that is another topic 😉...
And, yes : learning a few words in the local language (hello, goodbye, thnak you...) is a key to have a more pleasant contact with the europeans (and others !).

Also it pisses me off in Germany they always want cash, I hate this. I live in the uk and I’m French, I haven’t used cash in years… even markets and sometimes some homeless people have card machines
