It's really something else.
I have a 2002 Gretsch 6120 JR (smaller hollow-body) with a Setzer PU set, and there's nothing like playing it really really loud with gain. It's like being on a stormy sea. The guitar wants to throw you overboard. It's really a fight, but it's a fun fight, and the sounds that it produces are absolutely EPIC.
I guess Jared must know that well as he's played with Ted Nugent a couple of times, and Nugent is an ABSOLUTE MASTER at taming a Jazz Box (Byrdland Florentine, short scale hollow-body) played at high volume and with a good amount of gain.
LOVE YOU JARED !
God bless you man !
