I've seen a lot of travel vloggers cover Jakarta but yours is definitely the most in-depth and extensive so far!

i can still see many trees...while the other way around...cities in europe can be very lack of trees...coblestones, small aleys, squared buildings sometimes with no plantation at all along the street...

Since the beginning, the development of the city of Jakarta has been car oriented following the example of modern cities in America. that is one of the causes of chaotic traffic in Jakarta because many people prefer to use private vehicles even though currently the government is trying to improve the quality of public transportation services so that many people are interested in using public transportation to reduce congestion and pollution. If the city planning left by your ancestors was still maintained, it would be different because I admit that Europeans were very good at urban planning

It looks very green, clean and organized. Definitely on our bucket list to visit one day!

Jakarta also have beach and island area it's beautiful blue water just like Bali name called Pulau Seribu, ( thousand island ) and each island has own name.. it's just north of Jakarta, maybe the traveler didn't know much about this mostly local who visited most popular islands name Pulau Pari, Pulau macan, visit it another time when you back to jakarta

I've used the Railink and MRT in Jakarta with no problems at all, and easy to use. Plus you avoid the horrendous traffic

as an Indonesian, I must admit you are very good with the knowledge of Jakarta, yes it was a swamp area hence you will see a LOT of naming regions after the swamp (rawa),
e.g: Rawa sari, Rawa mangun, Rawa buaya, Rawa belong, Rawa bangke, Rawa bunga, and many more
hence it will always be flooding in rain season, and it can't be fixed... it just can't

Great review! I am Indonesian living abroad and travelling home once a year and made it a habit to stopover in Jakarta for few days transit. It is very nice to see an objective showcase of Jakarta. It not that bad as many say! Travelling to an south-east Asian metropolitan will always be not everyone's cup of tea. 🙂 already liked AND subscribed ✌️

Great editing. Jakarta is great if you're an urban traveller that love to get intimate experience with the locals.

If you have more time, you should visit the island of Belitung. Only 50 minutes flight from Jakarta, it's the true tropical paradise without the commercialization like Bali.

That's great you love Jakarta, it can be a bit confusing and stressful for sure, but I love the food and the people there and of course the 5 star hotels.

I love how you explain the city that you've visited, how the negative point and the possitive one, you explain it with honest.

Im just going to leave a few comments here as a Jakartan.

8:30 even though its car free day, this particular area in Jakarta experiences much lighter and more orderly traffic compared to other parts, leading to a sort of inaccurate perception of Jakarta's traffic. This is because that road specifically is abnormally wide and tidy for Jakarta, so every other road gets chaotically congested with all the vehicles trying to reach that road.

18:11 its somewhat new so you might have missed it, but Jakarta has an LRT that connects the MRT to the Whoosh HSR (Dukuh Atas MRT Station to Halim HSR Station). This lets you skip traffic entirely. It also brings you to the eastern side of the so called "Golden Triangle" of Jakarta on Jl. H. R. Rasuna Said, connecting it with the western side on Jl. Jend. Sudirman.

Also I find it quite funny how you, not to make fun of you, need a night of rest and sensory deprivation to alleviate the overload from such a busy night scene in Blok M. I personally find it weird and feel out of place when Im somewhere thats not as busy as Jakarta. Its wild how being raised in different environments can change how you feel about the world.
