Imagine getting scouted in an arcade, ostensibly for some sort of e-sports team. A while later, you're a Christmas tree doggo with a couple million subscribers.

Don't you just love Okayu's answer? "Okay, you will be applying to an e-sports focussed gaming group" / "OK, I like games!" Gets the job the same day.

I’ve always had the impression that GAMERS was Fubuki’s way of convincing Hololive to invite her friends so she can stream games with them. And then she said “yeah sure!” as Hololive ran with the concept.

I love how Korone, one of the most known members got in by Fubuki rolling up next to her and saying get in loser we're going streaming

I knew about how Gamers were form, but damn I didn't know they were made to be "serious" gamers, joining tournaments and stuff. Even having a theme song as well. Something tells me that none of the gamers probably remember this.

Okayu pulling Korone in with her is the cutest thing, and Korone just falling into stardom completely by happenstance is very on brand

I really like this form of documentary-like content. Your clips are top tier but hololive is kinda starved for more analysis and documentaries so i hope we get more!

Seeing that clip of Mio and Fubuki made me realize they were supposed to be opposites.  One's a wolf, the other is a fox, one's black with red highlights, the other's white with blue highlights....

Hired Mio as a gamer = got a mother.

Mum just brought her cat and dog from home to play at the office 😂
Head canon is YAGOO hired mum to do a part time job, she brought her pets to work on day. Boss saw them said aww so cute , they are now our company mascots

These dives into HoloLive history are super cool! Glad that you're making the most out the tumultuous things from the other channel.

The craziest thing about all of this to me is Korone and the idea of her somehow NOT being in Hololive. She was one of the people who pushed me down the Hololive rabbit hole and I honestly can't imagine what Hololive would have become without her presence.

I'm probably wrong here, but if I'd have to take a guess, GAMERS was probably an effort to get more people interested in Hololive, and since gaming was a big thing, what better way than having people specialize in games? And what better way to show of good gaming than tournaments? Except that Vtubers weren't as widespread as they are now back then, and I would figure not too many tournaments would be willing to have them. But they've come so far, I'm glad things have turn out the way they have. Yubi Yubi forever.

Really enjoying the documentary-style videos! I wasn't in the Vtuber scene back when Gamers had their debut, but I had always assumed that they were branded as such because dedicated "gaming" Vtubers weren't as common then. One thing I've always been curious about is Fubuki's duel gen status, as she's to this day the only member officially part of two generations.
I also find it very amusing that Fubuki scouted Okakoro at an arcade like she's Nick Fury looking for Avengers lol

I always chocked it up to the fact that there more willing to play retro games. Korone has played more retro games than anyone else i can think of

Hololive is like a family and Yagoo is the father.
He gets all these kids and has such high hopes and specific expectations for what they will be and tries to set it up that way and promote them that way. Then he sets it all up, sits back, and watches in anticipation.

Then they go do something completely different like a kid that wants to become a theater actor instead of a doctor or lawyer which their parents had been pulling strings to try to arrange.

But even though it never quite works out the way he thinks it will, these girls are talented and charming and they make it work anyway and are successful regardless.

And someone like Coco coming along just broke him entirely. She was really pushing limits and against every possible boundary and going waaaaay off the beaten path and she ended up changing the whole industry as she corrupted all the other girls.

I really hope Korone competes in more tournaments from now on, was so much fun keeping up with her progress during the cr cup.
great video btw :)

8:47 : Fubuki participated in APEX VSaikyou #2 in 2021, but I believe that's the only other time.

So Doggo was just staring at Space, a Space Cat appeared and ask her to join Hololive. And now she's loved by millions of people. Thank you Fubuki for giving us Korone.

Also thank you JShay for this interesting Video.

6:56 "I got in by just sitting around doing nothing, and now here I am" -- this is just so incredibly Korone, somehow

5:34, have a match with Okakoro at arcade -> get close -> become nakama -> join Hololive together

out of all place, it's arcade

this is truly anime
