Wow thank you for letting me have a play, my skills do not justify such a beautiful guitar, but it even sounded ok in my untalented hands.

That is cool! Thanks for sharing!

Great Sound 👍  The Resurrection of a Great Guitar doesn't happen every day ! So Glad you have one !
Your  Viewers will benefit I'm sure ❤

I’m very happy for you Alex! Very cool for them to send you one! Back in the Day, 1979, I had a Band in Los Angeles and played an acoustic electric Ovation…at a point I heard the full sound of a 12 String acoustic Guitar and instantly wanted won…so I bought an acoustic 12 String Guild and fell in love with the sound.
Incidentally, I grew up with the Beatles and Loved John’s “You’ve got to Hide You Love Away,” and “It’s Only Love.” I do thoroughly. enjoy your guitar playing. I appreciate your skill on the electric  guitar. You and Ally blend together beautifully by the way! Bring us more videos!
Cheers!
Tim

Love learning the history of the guitar! Really liked the song you wrote. It would be interesting to learn about all your guitars and hear some original compositions. Have a blessed week!

The Framus Hootenanny 12 string guitars are available from Thomann and the closest to the one John Lennon had? The Framus Vintage Hootenanny 12 TN.

"You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" is probably THE most iconic song associated with this guitar. Why didn't you play any of it for this demo?

Always loved a 12 string

GREAT! to see you  in your own video, and not just in shorts! Do a cover and bring in your girlfriend, you both are great!!

Sounds great!! BTW you and your girlfriend sound super together.  Is this the guitar the John Lennon played "Here I stand, head in hand" with also?  It was a 12 string acoustic

The lower resonant peaks you point out are similar to the original because you are playing the same notes - A has fundamental frequencies at 110hz,220hz and 440hz, so you would see a similar result on any acoustic guitar. I do like the sound of the Hootenanny though.

Wished it had the gum drop tuners.

I don't know to me it does not even look like  the original guitar - sound wise, eh hard to tell through a video I would have to hear one in person

Sorry to be a contrarian here, but I think it sounds a little too “clangy-changy!”  But then my taste was developed with a Gibson J-50 acoustic, as a lad, which I still have, and have moved to a Breedlove stage jumbo dreadnought, with full spectrum depth and better bass projection, rosewood back and sides, spruce top.  The comparison is similar to the difference between a full drum set and the toy drum set had at christmas, especially the cymbals.  Yes, that guitar is perhaps a legend because of Lennon, but he doesn’t strike me any more, when I compare his guitar sounds to the likes of Mike Dawes and Michael Hedges (whom I had the pleasure of meeting at a coffee house performance while I was in college.). Not to minimize your video, though.  Thanks for showing us a bit of music history!  And “hi” to Ally!  Don’t know where you met her, but she’s an adorable angel!  Best to you mate!
