Q with Tom Power

Neil Peart is one of the most celebrated and influential drummers of all time. In the new documentary Neil Peart: No One's Disciple, his life and legacy are honoured by his Rush bandmates, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson.

Along with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, they joined Tom Power in the Q studio to discuss the film and share stories about their late friend, bandmate and musical legend.

Q with Tom Power is a daily conversation with the artists, writers, actors and musicians who define this cultural moment in time. The chat is informal, wide-ranging, playful, and allows the artist to explore their art and the contexts that have shaped them through their career.

Tom thank you for this. I'm having a bit of a difficult time with health lately and what Geddy and Alex gave to the world this year makes me smile so much. Long live the Professor

I loved this interview. RUSH has been my band since I was 13 in 1975

Hearing Chad, one of my fave drummers, fanboy over Neil's kit makes me smile.

I love story's like when Chad was 15 listening to Rush and being amazed by the album and here he is sitting right next to them and even the opportunity of performing with them.💕💖💕

14-year-old me in 1977 heard 2112 for the first time, and I was a RUSH fan forever. It changed how I think about music. Their lyrics had me going to the library.

Chad Smith's recall of watching the band live is all of us. When you go from the LP or cassette to live, it's like having the top of your head blown off.

Absolutely a heartwarming interview. Neal was a legendary drummer and Anika is just blowing my mind.

The guy with the El Camino that Chad is talking about is my bro Kevin “Geno” Cherenzia and he was the road manager for a band I was in. I got to know Chad through him and Chad is one of the sweetest and most down to Earth dudes you’ll ever meet.

RUSH members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson donated nearly $785,000 to secure a memorial for their late bandmate Neil Peart at Lakeside Park in St. Catharines.
St. Catharines city staff say Lee and Lifeson presented a cheque to the Neil Peart Commemorative Task Force Fundraising Sub-committee after the band wrapped the Toronto portion of their Fifty Something tour on Aug. 13.

What a great interview. And what Geddy said about the afterlife was a lovely comment, and I think truth about life, something I feel after losing my mom last year.

The word “was” is so sad to me. RIP Professor, you changed my life. It was nice to meet you on the ferry, and compare motorcycles. I’ll never forget that.
