My Brother in Law bought a Revere the 600 version to do courier work, he got to well over 80000 miles before he looked for another, I found him a NTV 650 in a dealers with 50000 miles on the clock, he ran it until they gave him a van, by then it had 102000 on the clock! but it was tired, we sold it for parts and it got snapped up! Honda made a real workhorse of an engine.
I had a 750S, traded it in for a 750X, lost very little, both super affordable and just a dream to ride. The newer X has a lovely silky clutch pull, less weight than the S. Few owners dislike them. They get away perfectly fine from lights, I assure you. No car can compete. But that is not its strength. Agile, belies its already low weight and the Frunk and top box carry all you need. They keep the price down by having no top box or carrier and no centre stand. You need those. Second hand, nearly all have them, so a year or two old one is insane value. Best everyday Bike, since my Nighthawk in the '80's...
I have had 3 650 Honda Deauville's over the past 10 years. It makes a great second bike. I always believed it was the Bike that did nothing great. Just everything well. The only reason I sold my last one was the problems of getting spare parts that are now becoming harder to source even from a Honda main dealer. Still if you get a really good low milage second hand one there is nothing to compare with them. I have to disagree with one of comments about them. They are not that heavy and are well balanced. They also handle very well Not quite superbike racing bikes. But you can do a little lane scratching on them.
Who cares about your list of bikes that last forever. We all have cars. We want style, status, kerb appeal, and poseuring abilities. This is not 1950 when you used your AJS 350 to get to work on.
