Pavel Basinsky, a writer and literary scholar, author of books about Leo Tolstoy and Maxim Gorky, has written a biography of the little-known Liza Dyakonova. Liza, a girl from a Yaroslavl merchant family, studies in St. Petersburg and Paris, participates in the women's liberation movement, tries her hand at literature, but suddenly and mysteriously dies in the Tyrolean mountains. Based on Lisa's diary, the book tells not only of her tragic fate but also of the morals and customs that reigned in Russian society at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

This program continues the conversation about the social and aesthetic significance of literature on the Rossiya K TV channel. Its creators intend to dedicate the program to the most current trends in Russian literature.

The goal is to introduce viewers to master writers, but also to introduce writers previously unknown to the general public, talk about new books, and discuss contemporary life and general humanities topics.

The program has its own "code": each episode is a meeting with the author of a recently published book. This will be followed by a discussion about the writer and his characters, an analysis of artistic techniques, and the exploration of hidden meanings.
