Who else watches these videos while going to sleep?

That chimney is a work of art.

Where in the crap do you find logs straighter than milled lumber?  There is no way you could build that in Georgia or Arkansas.  It would look like a pretzel.

im 13 and i go to do bushcraft with my friend, we live in mountains,there is a lot of forests here so we spend our days there.We only have a knife when we go out,nothing else (sometimes axe or handsaw) and we've made a lot of log cabins, huts,teepee shelters, and a lot more! We even made our own equipment like: spoons-forks-plates-bowls.I just love nature and being outside.I think that more people my age should do it because if you did bushcraft or survival you will know that feeling, especially when you live in mountains. Oh and sometimes we go swimming in lakes here or rivers its cool to!

Just when I thought I knew everything about making a Log Cabin, then someone makes thermal mass around his fireplace and puts a window directly in the Roof!  Respect, my friend.

Ive watched a LOT of these types of videos, and I have to say, this is by FAR the best fireplace/chimney build ive ever seen 👏

I like to watch videos like this. When I go to sleep I play a video of a thunderstorm and pretend I'm going to sleep in one of those little cabins.

Kudos to you, sir!  You not only made a cabin that is true to its predecessors, but is also aesthetically pleasing.  You made sure to keep the mud smooth, and kept the logs of a similar size, but you did all of that using hand tools like our forefathers did.  Thank you for a very pleasing build and video.

Fabulous little cabin, but the way you did the chimney is amazing! Blends so well into the entire build and the the sand as a ‘heatsink’ isn’t something that many would think of. My respect to you for that.

The best log cabin I have seen built by one person! I lived in a log cabin for many years built by a company who specialized in only building log cabins from scratch..no kit. This beat them hands down.
