"Of course they're tasty, Kush made them". There is not a better compliment to be had from another chef

That first gadget has been found in markets everywhere for the past 20+ years

One of the most amusing things about being old is watching products get re-launched as new. I hear myself saying “Didn’t we already do that?” at least once a day.

The pasta cooker is a lifesaver for me as a wheelchair user. No having to carry the pan over to drain and no having to reach over the hob to cook. Mine is a slightly different design (and £5 from eBay) and works well for me. It’s allowed me to cook pasta again.

Okay so if you want a garlic grater plate PLEASE check out local potters!! We LOVE making those!! Check our your local shops first PLEASE people!

The grater is common tableware in Europe, especially Spain, Italy and so forth. You grate the garlic, fill the plate with oil, sprinkle with salt and serve with fresh bread. It has been around for many decades. Three to four Euros each at farmers markets

Some of these feel like a spotlight is being put on small/traditional kitchen tools that other cultures utilize regularly, while others feel like a bad trip with the shopping channel on at 3am

10:09 “waste of thyme” was right there.

My sister bought the grater plate at our local county fair at least 20 years ago. It's still frequently used and is as useful now as it was then.

The kebab rack would make way more sense the other way round. The round rack as a base and the skewers welded in place so you can stack up from the bottom to the top without the kebab falling down

"Environmentally conscious people throw money and attention at the world's leading garbage producer", my favorite

I don't know how Barry could rate the kebab thing so highly. He demonstrated that they don't even keep the food on the skewer.

It says at 10:38 remove the lid before cooking pasta and you show putting it in the microwave with the lid ON.

Shopping on TikTok is like playing roulette with your card data, lol.

When I was a kid in the late 90s, early 00s, the farmers market near me sold garlic grating plates, but instead of a bunch of bumps, it was ridges (like, they may have just scraped a fork across the clay when it was wet). Honestly I like the ridges design better. You didn't have to remove the garlic with a tool, and if you wanted to make a bread dip you could do it right in the grater

5:30 you can get better version of this in Ikea. I have no idea if the Ikea version works better but I trust Ikea plastic more than TikTok plastic.

"Have you found anything useful on the TikTok shop?" Nope, because I refuse to install it.

@andrewbaisch6312 2 months ago

Hard to believe you've never seen the silicone garlic peeler. I first saw one 25 years ago.

@cloverbelle8008 2 months ago

to be fair to the pasta one it does say on the lid to remove the lid before cooking presumably to let the water evaporate faster and cook off the pasta quicker lmao

I’m surprised they haven’t seen the first gadget before in their foodie travels. It’s so common in markets in places like spain I got mine for less than €5
