I was one of the backers of this documentary when it was on kickstarter. It is the only crowdfunding thing I have ever backed and the result is amazing.

I've never seen a Mignola interview, nor spent anytime learning about him. I never cared for his heavy use of black in the creative process. I can say now, that I missed out on some very important moments in the art world. Thanks for sharing his story.

That what being a Teacher is about. Not the Career, Not The Accolades, Not The Holidays or Salary, Not The Prestige of The Acemdemia. Though those are well and good. It's about recognising and acknowledging potiental that everyone is essentially intelligent in their own particular way ( both within and outside of all Societal classification categories ) everyone has a gift, it's about finding a way to help them to acknowledging it, giving them the tools, the means, the encouragement, then watching them run with it. Giving them the light, the environment, the space, place and air to grow.

I have never read hellboy nor watched any of the movies and watched this out of curiosity. What a lovely dude, a fantastic artist and just a great doco.

Gives me a somewhat Tarantino tone and voice, but like this super genuine and honest retrospect. Thanks for sharing, love it

This was a great documentary, the story of Mike's Dad, resonates with me, my Dad was much the same, I saw him grab Mum's sewing kit and sew up some cut he had on his hand.

Beatiful insight into Mignola's career and the process that brought Hellboy from a sketch to beatiful comics and a full fledged pop icon.

I 'am an indie animation guy, but Mignola tells no lies. You have to find out what works for you and stick to that no matter what. Thanks Mike..

Your work can be art, it can be hard to make, it can be hard to understand, but if it is too hard to enter that world I think it is not good.

Wow, this is one of the best comic creator documentaries I've ever seen! What an amazing story, & incidentally, how much Mike & his wife's noses look alike!
I still have that Legends of the Dark Knight issue Mike drew & how close that was, in style, to what Hellboy became!
