Actually the neutrality one is not the historical portuguese tree because that makes Portugal go democratic. The historical one is the one where you keep salazar and the Estado Novo

It goes from one of the most popular and flavorful nations in EU4
To being INSTANTLY forgotten in Victoria and HOI4
The fall of Iberia in geopolitical terms happened so fast

"Playing democratic Portugal historically", not even Portugal IRL took that path lol

the reason why estonia and france recieved a boost in  comunist ideology is because the focus gives that national spirit to any european country with a certain amount (around 10%) so france of course because of events and i guess estonia. (thats why you see yougoslavia and then it disepeares later in the Video)

3:42, Actually, the historical path is "Support the Spanish Nationalists" believe it or not. Portugal wasn't neutral, so why paradox added that path is a good question...

I think with the "Latin American Communism" focus, you were supposed to use your spies to help further influence communism in the region. The focus even gave you a permanent bonus for propaganda and boosting ideology missions. (7:31)
That's my guess at least

I have no clue why Portogual wanted to influence Estonia though....Maybe Portugal thought poor Estonia was lonely in the Baltics

15:10 "I feel like there's too many Frances" - Europe after the collapse of the Carolingian Empire

as an estonian, i approve estonia surviving world war 2

You should do a democratic Baltic nation path

Of all the flags they could've used for Iberia, they choose the one that looks like a tablecloth

It seems ISP needs some Portuguese history lessons

I loved it when he said "its portugal time" and then everyone got portugaled on. Awesome

Actually I started playing portugal alot. I used to think hungry was my favorite,  now portugal is as well

It still feels weird not having the Ironsides into

Portugal kept the Salazar regime through the Cold War and the regime joined nato

I wish I could play HOI4 without my laptop acting like its in South Western Djibouti

As a portuguese i'm honored isp

The historical option is strengthening the Estado Novo regime and keeping Salazar.

What if we kissed on the Iberian Union & Soviet Czechoslovakian border?
