Ok, so I have come to this years later than most, but thank you so so much for your amazing review of this beautiful film x

A masterpiece. A top 10 for me. Just so visually pleasing. And breaks my heart every time I see it. ❤

this film should’ve won the oscar & timotheé should’ve won the oscar best actor

love this film

this was great dialogue/analysis about the film, really enjoyed this

I'm really late hopping on this train , I  just watched this for the first time last weekend.  I watched it 5 times  during a 48 hr rental! I am obsessed!!  I've watched every clip, interview and review i can find on YouTube.  I bought the audio book and the sequel. Im about to buy the movie so i can watch it over and over. Such a beautiful movie, although the ending leaves me utterly heartbroken every time😭

Spot on!! Love your analysis.

Amazing review!

Wonderful film. Timothée should have won the Oscar - he showed such range with his acting. I don't agree with Luca's choice to soften the sex scenes - a crucial theme of the book was raw carnality and how that enhanced the closeness of the two characters. The film "God's Own Country" showed the nitty-gritty of the sex scenes, which in no way compromised the story. And yes, Luca included the peach scene, but he cheated its conclusion, which was more graphic in the book. He certainly made his own version of the story, which I admit was very sensitive and beautiful.
Armie had good instincts for this film - I read that he suggested to Luca that they do a single take for the confession scene at the monument. I timed it at four minutes and it certainly was impressive. As for the chemistry between the two actors, it was next level. They did an extensive interview tour for the film and the closeness between them was palpable. It's a real shame that Armie got into the trouble he did. He has disappeared from the film scene.

You should do Buffalo 66
