Sim Settlements 2 is one the best mods I have ever played and there will come a lot of other quests on the line, rebuilding Concord, rebuild the police force and medical aid, for all of the Commenwealth, and a lot more, trust me. You are only scratching the surface of all this mod offers.

I really wish Bethesda would just pay the people who made sim settlements to make a full, licensed, stand alone game. They did a great job but they still had to shoehorn the features into an existing framework, and I think they could do so much more if they were given the chance.

I remember playing Sim Settlements 2, it was pretty fun and I liked the way building worked.

Had to stop eventually because of the way it caused settler limits to glitch and keep increasing indefinitely, and I was getting tired of finding 80 settlers pestering me about not enough beds every time I entered a settlement.

An assortment of knowledge gained in my hundreds of hours playing with Sim Settlements 2 for anyone who might be interested:
1. Scrap Everything breaks SS2's City Plan system, which is required for at least one main quest in the mod. It is strongly recommended that you do not use Scrap Everything with SS2.
2. You don't have to use Sanctuary as your main SS2 settlement. The Stranger will meet you at whatever settlement you first build a recruitment beacon at, and that settlement will be used as the one you return to for any SS2 quests that care about it.
3. One of the early SS2 quests, If I Had a Hammer, requires 8 settlers at your main settlement in order to fully complete. The quest will spawn in extra settlers to get your count up to the needed number if you don't already have enough present. If you're using Sanctuary as your main settlement, you can wait to get Preston and the crew until after you finish that quest to push Sanctuary's population up to 13 settlers immediately.
4. Settlers will automatically be assigned to SS2 plots under most circumstances, provided they do not already have a vanilla work object or vanilla bed that they're already assigned to. The assignment issue that occurred around 27:00 was most likely caused by reassigning the resident of the existing plot to the newly built one, but could also have been caused by adding a bunch of vanilla beds to the settlement.
5. 29:20 The red symbol mentioned here just means that it's a Residential plot - you'll notice the colour of the symbol matches the colour of the plot object in the build menu. Agricultural are green, while Industrial are yellow.
6. The stats of your settlers affects their output when assigned to SS2 plots. By default, SS2 resets generic settler stats to between 1 and 3, while named settlers, whether added by SS2 or from the base game, generally have higher stats. Agricultural plots scale off Endurance, while Industrial plots scale off Strength. Amusingly, that means that Mama Murphy is one of the absolute best scavvers you can have assigned to your Industrial plots.
7. 1:16:00 Level 1 plots mostly do not require power, though they will have a power requirement listed - giving them that much power is what's needed to allow them to upgrade to Level 2 when all other conditions (time since last upgrade, required materials available, required food and water, minimum settlement happiness level) are met.  Note that the requirements for SS2s plots are different from the vanilla requirements, so the best way to know whether you're meeting the needs of your settlers is to keep an eye on the extra HUD element on the bottom left - as long as all those bars are full and their icon bright green, your SS2 plots will be happy.
8. SS2 plots accept radiant power, so you don't need to directly hook up every single plot and can actually scrap the power poles that spawn with the plots if you feel so inclined. That said, those poles act as power radiators in the same way as the vanilla connectors, so they can actually look pretty good if you decide to use them in your own designs. They can be placed independently of SS2 plots using the SS2 -> Power menu.

I've spent weeks just building in my settlements going full OCD on decorating. I make myself a nice looking house and then an apartment for the settlers. A mini mall with all the shops. A fortified power station with concrete and and steel to keep enemies from destroying it. I found a way to hide the wires in the ceilings of the houses and buildings I create so it looks clean. I also use CC content and mods to model my homes as close to the prewar sanctuary homes as possible, so everything feels lore accurate.
