I imagine you’ll hear this once or twice in the comments, but the new cover Maphra put out yesterday is INSANE. I used to comment on every single Circle With Me reaction that this is my favorite cover ever, but now…I’m not so sure. Obviously still obsessed with this one, but Silence is so damn good.

its like a demon takes over that beautiful soul... I have never heard this genre of music prior to hearing Maphra cover of Doomed two weeks ago.. with the exception of being a Linkin Park Fan.and now i cant get enough...

She is a once in a lifetime artist. Her voice is unparalleled, the emotion behind every word she sings is phenomenal. This goes for every single cover she has done. Maphra, is more than music.

YAEEESSS!!! Courtney is an incredible singer, but in my humble opinion, Maphra is a once in a lifetime artist! Brilliant! Great reaction! Cheers!!

I can’t stop listening to this song over and over and over again. I feel like I have to switch between screaming, crying, and smiling. I love her voice, I love the emotions her voice triggers in me. It’s simply unbelievable what Maphra does to me… Goosebumps – total escalation.

Maphras cover of silence blows this cover away and her circle with me cover was amazing

I honestly believe that #MAPHRA could sell me that extended warranty. Everything she does is absolutely beautiful. Songs that offer no beauty until she opens her mouth. #MAPHRASQUAD 🔥🤘🏻🖤👑🖤🤘🏻🔥

You can hear her shaking in the growl in "go" and "me", so the video may show her during the actual recording (most music videos do not). Which, given the distance to the mic, is pretty insane, she has to have quite some volume. Would love to see someone doing an interview (Elisabeth / The Charismatic Voice comes to mind)!

#MaphraSquad 🤘🏻
Maphra has incredible taste in music and an astronomical ability to take these songs that she very much seems to resonate with and make them her own beautifully tragic, cohesive story.
She’s more than a vocal powerhouse; she is a genuine artist, through and through. Her new cover of Silence exemplifies this very well.
I can’t wait to see what other magic she unleashes on the world moving forward.
Keep on rockin’. 🤘🏻

Maphra 🔥

7:23 She shook not just from the emotion, but because that note was a "breath dump." If you listen as she goes along that entire line, she starts out with normal harsh, then goes to a bass-pitched harsh ("I claim my place"), and the last note was a gutteral growl that takes a SHIT TON of air, so she breath dumped the entire note ("GOD"). Forcing that much air out of your throat while constricting it to produce the growl takes a lot of effort. It doesn't hurt the voice at all, because she's doing her harsh vocals and the growl in a healthy way, but she slammed her diaphragm upwards to deflate her lungs, so it was emotion + muscle tremors that made her shake.
