Superman begins with a legend in motion: From the doomed planet of Krypton, two parents launch a spaceship carrying their infant son to Earth. There, he grows up to become Clark Kent (Christopher Reeve), mild-mannered reporter for the Metropolis Daily Planet—but with powers far beyond mortal men, he rises as the Man of Steel.
In Metropolis, daring rescues ignite hope as fearless Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) chases the story of a lifetime, while criminal mastermind Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) plots a scheme of epic scale. Guided by the legacy of Jor-El (Marlon Brando), SUPERMAN soars into action in a thrilling, comic book spectacle where heroism takes flight.

I cry whenever I see that scene. They were so beautiful, so perfect and so in love with one another.
This country, the world....it needs heroes. Even if that hero was a fictionalized man and woman. I need a hero. I admit it. I have for most if not all my life. I'm 66 years old and still cry when I see this scene. Oh how a wish Superman was real....
Christopher Reeves was the very best Superman. He was is and shall always be the benchmark by which every single person portraying Superman will be judged. His infectious smile. His good nature. His persona came across.....I am Superman. Yet, on a beautiful Virginia day, Chris found out he was mortal. Or so we thought. Falling off his horse while competing, he became paralyzed from the neck down. He literally severed his spinal column and so began a journey of proving he really was Superman.
He almost did it. He literally walked when every doctor told him he'll never walk again. His wife, his children, his co workers and fellow actors, his fans and yes.....me, I was devastated. How can this be? How could God take this man and throw him to the wolves. Well, God didn't.....Instead, he used his now broken body as a life force to teach others if I can, so can you.
Chris was many things, to me, he was my Hero.....I don't put him on a level with God. No, I put him on a level that teaches all of us, that we are all God's children and we can and will serve God to the end.....
Can you read my mind......😢😢😢
P.S. My father passed away, now six years ago from Cancer. I was his caregiver. He was, is and shall always be my Hero......I miss you Dad & Mom🌹🌹.......
