Your videos have helped me out so much, thanks for putting them together! Have you ever had to deal with a stripped cam tension screw? mine spins freely and doesn't bite onto the push rod.

Interesting stuff - thank you! 👍 I wish I’d known this 50 years ago, my drain plugs always seemed to be rogering themselves, and I guess Honda was designing their sumps with the ‘volcano’ even back then. My mates were the ones with the helicoil skills though!

I have never used a helicoil. To be honest, I'm intimidated at the thought. Clearly you know exactly what you are doing. Well done!

Thanks for the new video.  My CT90 plug stripped out, but I was afraid to attempt a helicoil.   Instead, I bought a slightly over-sized self-tapping "piggy back" drain plug off Amazon. For the CT 90 (US) the size was   M12.1-1.5 x 15mm self-tapping.  It is a 12.1 rather than a 12 and this allows the self-tapping plug to basically just enlarge the threads just a ".1"  - and enough to get a grip.   It has a small  hex plug in the center of the main drain plug, and I usually change the oil through the center hex.  But to prevent "sludge build up" from not fully draining, I can take the main bolt out say every 4 oil changes to ensure a total drain.  Anyway, this "12.1" plug was a real life saver for my pan, and was much easier than doing the helicoil.   Best - and thanks so much for posting !
