Do the Right Thing is my favorite Spike Lee movie. It's gritty, raw, and real. It was groundbreaking yet is still very relevant today. It has a stellar cast. I love looking at the rehearsal scenes of Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis. 2 phenomenal actors from the past. Rosie Perez was terrific in her film debut here. Although I saw it in a movie theater when it was released, I've re-watched it many times over the years. Every time, I see something new. It's original and brilliantly filmed. Thank you, SF, for this insightful Behind the Scenes of an iconic film! ❤❤

This might be the best presentation of an already spectacular channel.
Many actors. The director. Assistant director. Script supervisor. Former iconic director. Extras. Neighborhood people.

I'm GenX. Saw this masterpiece the summer before my Freshman year at college, and several times again on campus as part of courses and film club viewings. I have enjoyed many....exuberant...debates with classmates, friends, and acquaintances that this film sparked. In the '90s it was ok to argue, to be politically incorrect, to say what you believed or felt as long as it was said respectfully and you could back it up with logic. The '90s was a great era to grow intellectually.

This is absolutely top 10 if not my favorite movie of all time! (it changes depending on the day, but never falls out of 10). I lived in NYC in the late 80s/early 90s. I saw this movie in the theater on a VERY hot day in NY. "1989, the number, another summer..." This behind the scenes could have been hours long and I'd be captivated. I so loved the Ruby Dee and Ozzie Davis rehearsal scenes. The movie is a full on masterpiece! Thanks!

see Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee rehearsing their lines. Brings a tear to my eye! 5:02 Listening to Ossie talk about how he relates to the script, in the analogy of the pain of watching that train everyday and knowing it, oh my gosh what a talented and articulate man he was... not like the Hollywood of today. Sorry for the boomer rant.
