Here is my favorite short row heel, it is different from the one in Mina's Vanilla Sock Recipe, but a good one for either tow up (which is what I'm working on) or cuff down, involving half the stitches on the sock. I'm using the magic loop method, but this heel can be done with any method of small circumference knitting.
