Biggest Red Oak Removal to Date! (Manitou MRT 2660)

Freedom Wood Co

We took on our biggest tree yet! A MASSIVE Red Oak
decided it didn't want to hold on to a huge leader and
dropped it on the eave of this house, decimating the
back porch in the process.
The leader itself was as big as a normal tree!
We called Tomahawk Crane & Rigging for an assist
with a 45 Ton. HUGE shout out to their Operator, Justin.
He was awesome and made this job seamless!

Had a local guy tipped the crane over on the house when the septic tank collapsed under outrigger

7:02 the hoses on the boom are also equipped with toolless quick change hydraulic fittings!

8:47 Sam, when the bar gets caught on the back swing, you can run the aux hydraulic control the other direction and it will “dump” the saw box down allowing the bar to get clear of the branch and fully retract.

Strong work! When Im dealing with a cut where I cant get all of the dogs tight to the tree, I will lightly grab the piece so as I start to cut the grapple will close and the gap will close by the time I cut all of the way through. Not something that can be done all the time as you will shake loose dead wood, there’s potential for breakage and you just don’t want to try awkward grabs on anything dead. Otherwise it has worked great for limbs that are at an awkward angle and I’m not able to tilt far enough back.

Keep this coming and your channel will blow up. Personality is why people show up and being a joker keeps things interesting. 🤘

The temperature in Celsius is a little more accurate unit of measurement compared to the ferinheight temperature but that’s because I live in Europe/ Ireland 🇮🇪

Love the video and equipment. However the young groundys have no business using a chainsaw without chaps or saw pants . Stay safe

I saw the second camera screen looking thing off the top screen, do you have a camera in the grapple?

For marrying up, be not afraid of coming down from the top, or up from the bottom, or straight in from the side.

The more up or down the grapple is, the more eccentric weight you can handle. (When the slew bearing is closer to horizontal).

Great editing/video work!

Awesome work. All that good equipment invested. You guys should get a harness for that bucket operator. Be safe and keep up the good work.

I like the freedom. I’m kind of like Charlie Kirk.

Me like!
I watch August, Veterans Tree and Guilty of Treeson, among others. I just added you to my sub list.
No, I'm not a tree guy, just an old construction dude.

Haha yeah, bottlenecks of tree work. Just picked up a used 19XPC. New bottleneck- chip truck. I got more equipment than workers and all I wanna do is climb. Yet here we are- running a business. Wtf. If I stayed in the Corps, I’d be done by now.
