The title "Highlander" is given to the main character because he is from the Scottish Highlands - it is not a name for the "Immortals" or whatever those who can only die if they lose their heads would be called. The Kurgan is NOT a "Highlander", and neither is Ramirez.

Highlander is a great movie, a Frenchman playing a Scot and a Scotsman playing an Egyptian or Spaniard. If Liam Neeson was in this movie he'd just be Liam Neeson.

every time he says Conner McLoad I die

Ramirez: an Egyptian man with a Spanish name wielding a Japanese sword in the Highlands of Scotland. This movie isnt confused at all 😂

i cannae handle you mispronouncing his name repeatedly, compounded by the fact that they say it correctly all through the gorram movie.  wtaf.

You're saying his last wrong. He is called highlander because that's where he is from

They are immortals not highlanders...Connor MacLeod (pronounced Mac-cloud) is from the highlands of Scotland which is where the name highlander comes from. None of the others were "highlanders"

Alright. You mispronounce both his real name and his character's name.

I always assumed that the proximity "buzz" was from some sort of field they projected about 50m or so. That if you look at it like a circle, they are in the middle of it and while two fields can ven diagram and overlap, it's not felt until they themselves, enter into someone else's field.

Hence why it's felt simultaniously, as them entering someone else's field and feeling it, means that someone else is feeling the entry of their field, as well. Where it just feels like a quick jarring of atmospheric condition change, before acclimating. As they are just noticing a difference. Hence why two or more can walk together or be in the same room without it continuously going off.

There was child immortal in the show who broke all those rules and nothing happened to him

How to tell your audience that you’ve never watched Highlander without saying that you have never watched Highlander.

"I am immortal. I have inside me blood of kings. I have no rivals. No man can be my equal."  I loved that intro song in the TV series

Highlander is by far my favorite tvshow ever. Being Duncan my favorite character of them all

I remember my father watching this when i was little. He passed away recently. I think im going to watch the show now. Kind of like a way of connecting with him again

Growing up Highlander was one of my favorite shows, and as I started to explore the mythos I found it the most interesting takes on the concept on agelessness.  As they are not "immortal."  They can die, both temporarily and forever with head removal.  They can be permanently hurt.  They can get sick.  It seems they just don't get older after their initial death, and unless their head is taken any death is temporary, like a photograph, a snapshot in time in how they were at that moment.  The reason I loved this type of agelessness so much, is it always raises the question of things we don't normally thing about?  How do they adopt to the changing times, eventually science and technology has created a world culture that could notice and track them as eventually they would have to enter the world's systems.  Also how do they deal with the fact that they could be carrying viruses and illnesses from that past into the future.  But basic things also, like....how long to their teeth last lol...cause most people can't go 50 years without issues...how do they go centuries and millennia LOL. And how do they manage to keep a sword handy in an age of guns, scanners, and smartphones..........I love it.

The Original Highlander film is a classic, and has been one of my favourite films since a kid. The 1990s Tv show with Duncan Macleod as the lead character, that loosely followed the storyline from the films is great too. It's just a shame that the majority of the sequels that followed the first film wasn't anywhere near the same quality as the original, the two sequels that came closest were - Highlander 3 and Highlander Endgame. If they do reboot the franchise with a new film, lets hope it's done right, and made by people who actually understood what made the original great.👍

Calling them Highlanders shows you guys aren't really fans. They're called immortals, the Highlands of Scotland are Connor and Duncan's home region which is why they are called Highlanders.

The 3rd film wasn't subtitled "the sorcerer". It WAS called "The Final Dimension". I saw it in the theater!

Anybody can kill an immortal by cutting off his head, not just other immortals, only immortal can benefit from the quickening though. I'm a Highlander super fan. Maybe go check the series where Duncan almost lost his head by a rogue watcher group and in fact the rogue group did kill a few immortals.

"Why does the sun come up? Are the stars merely pinholes in the curtain of night?"
Those are the origins of the immortals.
