Denzel is one of the greatest actors of this generation but no one in the comments has mentioned Orson Bean.
The veteran actor  was 90 YEARS OLD at the time of this movie and gave an absolutely epic performance!

Being with his sister once again is more valuable than any picture!!

I found out after 62 years alone on this earth that I have a brother and other siblings. I mo longer feel alone

In my distant past, I worked in the Reagan admin in EAST Berlin.
Technology advancements had rendered main frame tapes obsolete and my assignment was to dispose of them by any means available.
Those tapes contained detailed names of people the Nazis had picked up and 'relocated' during WWII.
I met a British woman on a flight from Franfort to London.  Marion Leonard.  She was 9 when her Polish father instructed her and her 6 yr old brother to go west and look for allied soldiers.  She made it and he didn't.  Marion spent her life reuniting families separated by the Holocaust.
1985 I gave her those tapes and she digitized them.
1988 in my apartment in Belgrade, a man came to my door with an invitation to attend a ceremony in Bonn Germany for Holocaust survivors.
She used those tapes to find aunts, uncles, brothers & sisters, and others each seated with name tags unaware that each was related.  It was the most meaningful day of my entire life when she told me how that simple gesture had brought so much relief, so much joy to so many, 163 people reunited.  I shall never forget.  I'm now 76 and hope some other young person can can look back and lift up those who can't help themselves.

"Today I broke a personal best: Successive days alive." I'm definitely going to use that one, probably more than once.

Of course Denzel was great, but who knew Orson Bean could deliver such a gut wrenching reunion scene?

I know it's just a movie, but when brother and sister got reunited after all those years, it got me in the feels.

My now deceased uncle went through something similar. He had paperwork to reclaim his property but the Czech government put so many hoops in front of him to regain his property, he never got it back. Really sad.

Who on earth is cutting those damn onions again? 😢😢😢I know it is only a movie, but this clip is so heart-wrenching.

Denzel Washington is one of the greatest

Denzel is such a great actor. Whoever he plays, he becomes.

Denzel knew the same sense of loss from his loss of his dear wife . Orson Bean is a brilliant actor !!

Orson Bean - On February 7, 2020, while crossing Venice Boulevard in the Venice section of Los Angeles, Bean died from complications of a traffic accident. He was struck by two vehicles, with the second striking him fatally. The driver of the first vehicle "did not see him and clipped him and he went down", said Los Angeles Police Department Captain Brian Wendling. "A second vehicle's driver was distracted by people trying to slow him down; when the driver looked ahead, a second traffic collision occurred, and it caused the death of Bean."

My sister passed away from kidney failure in 1998 at 25 yrs old. I was 21. I'm 48 now. I have no other siblings. I wish I could see her again. This scene keeps me in tears everytime.

I just caught the dad joke "Lyft off!" Lol. That's good

one of the best scenes in the movie, the reunion with his sister

The emotions a cinematic scene can touch, is amazing...

That was Orson Bean playing the old guy. Grownups will remember him from the 1960s. He was on the Tonight Show with Carson 200 times.

before this movie came out, someone in an interview asked him why he's never done a sequel. He said he'd never been asked to.

When you see what is happening in the world today, such powerful scenes remind you as to why we should stand strong and reject hate and those who would seek to eradicate others

Excellent movie clip. Denzel Washington is one of our great actors. I knew a man some years ago who told me that his mother and father moved to the U.S. in the 1930's. They escaped the Holocaust. Every single one of his relatives who lived in Europe was killed.
