Nixon was solid. I like hearing people from his generation more than I like hearing leaders today.

Nixon had balls to go there and give a speech while the students are protesting outside. He had guts and a backbone.

I'll say this for the man: by god, when he got knocked down, he got up. Speaking without notes for that long, obviously had an incredible analytical mind and used it well here, ignoring all that noise outside. Nixon had guts.

The most complicated U.S. President ever and arguably the most intellectual.  He was adept, conniving and intriguing.  He was also, as seen here in a room of young skeptics,, resilient and self aware.

One of the most impressive displays I've  seen in answering questions for a audience. Quietly
Authoritative, intelligent and an ability  to hold the attention of the listener to his exacting responses.
What a human and his ability to be able to operate in such a cauldron without flinching a muscle shows why he was a leader and not a showman. May he RIP.

His composure in that atmosphere, alone, was remarkable.

He dealt with worse. Students threw rocks at him in Venezuela in 1958.

Mr. President is an absolute statesman and gentleman here. He clearly is honored to be a guest speaker, and he responds to the attendees with great care and reverence and with his vast intelligence and knowledge. Rockstar.

Wow. What I appreciate most is how much of Nixon's humanity came through in this speech.

This brings tears to my eyes.  I must remember this man's courage in the face of adversity.

Intelligent, sharp, tough, witty, .... the entire speech and question answering was given without any script, and the loud non-stop protests did not stop his flow of thought even once. Nixon was a giant. He was a true patriotic gentleman and never criticized an American politician on a foreign land.

Honestly could anyone get up and have a coherent speech with all that racquet going on out there.  Impressive.  The more I see of Nixon the more I like him.

As former President Nixon gives a speech to Oxford Students, crowds outside chant "We want Nixon's head" and other "delightful" slogans. It is interesting to note how mesmerizing a speaker he was as well as coming across as very warm, funny as well as brilliant. Never one to shy away from controversy, President Nixon answers questions from the audience and takes on Foreign policy issues as well as discussing Watergate. In my opinion, we have not had another President of this stature since. As an interesting parallel to the current Administration, it is amazing that a President can accomplish anything when the restless throngs will not let them do the job for which they were elected.

Even in the face of all that noise and disrespect outside he still persevered through his speech with dignity-a strong man and very admirable indeed.

Nixon had bigger balls then all those protestors combined. F them and I don’t even like Nixon. R E S P E C T

Long Live Richard Milhouse Nixon. A great statesman.

Amid all that noise, he kept his composure and spoke like a true statesman. I admire Nixon more now than when he was president. To speak that long with no notes is amazing. Then he took questions.

Wow. So brilliant. Nixon comes through as a Professor of Political Science and diplomacy and International Politics and very candid and forthright. This is the Man we would like to have in the difficult world we live in today - clear headed, tough yet so gentle and softly human.

He stood up to challenges and animosity all his career

After watching this I'm struck at the tremendous intellect of Nixon what a brilliant mind he had and how right he was on so many things.
Glad he continued to speak in public forums such as this after his resignation and rehabilitated his image somewhat.
