This is all I needed to hear to pull the trigger on the 58

Have had my bb58 blue for around 4 years now and love it so much. I don't compare it to the sub and admire it for it's own sake

I've had my 58 since 2021 and it's still one of my favorites out of all my watches.

Interesting. If I had to choose between the Submariner and the BB58 based on which one I liked better, and money was not a question, I would choose the BB. It's simply prettier IMO.

This is a great commentary.  Thank you for sharing how you worked out the right configuration for your BB58!

Appreciate your videos! Thanks!

at 0:38 its actually a black bay 54, even smaller than bb58

I had a similar experience, in reverse, with my Hamilton Khaki Field in titanium.  It came on a (cheapish) leather strap and after a few weeks I found myself not really enjoying the watch.  However, I bought the titanium bracelet for it and - voila!  Now I love wearing the watch, especially on camping/hiking/fishing trips.

My BB58 will always be my favorite watch.  Couldn't be happier.

I’ve had my gilt dial BB58 for three years and it’s still the watch I wear the most. Looks good in almost any situation, wears well, feels solid on the wrist and I never really think about it when I’m wearing it. It’s a real throw-n-go piece

I love my blue BB58! I initially kept it on various colorful NATO straps, but it has been just on the original bracelet for about a year now. It is my work/sleep watch and look forward to seeing it age.

My BB58 lives  happily next to my 124060, Breitling Colt 41 old school, Hamilton Khaki King, Tissot Visodate, Seiko Skx 007,009, Seiko quartz Chronograph. It is so well made and perfectly proportioned for a sports watch. It borrows from classic Tudors without being a slave to an exact copy . It really is its own thing with an update to the classic Tudor 7924 Big Crown. The gilt bezel gives the 58 a warm feel, the red triangle offers a pop of color paying homage to the Tudor Big Crown, the chunky coin edge crown is so satisfying to wind with a refined matching coin edge bezel and I love the snow flake seconds hand. It’s different from the more traditional lollipop style. By the way, 39 mm is on the smaller side for a modern sized sports watch. I think anything smaller is playing vintage territory.

Nice. Glad you finally “unlocked” the BB58. I have a BB36 with a bracelet, and it looks great that way, but it’s also a NATO strap monster. It’s the blue dial version, and blue/white, blue/green, blue/red straps look so good on it. Yours looks amazing on that olive chevron. Cheers!

What brand and model is that silver Perlon strap? Looks great

I just got a BB58 a few months back. I keep it on a red rubber strap and am really enjoying it

A few years ago I went and tried on the blue and black 58. I was underwhelmed and bought an Omega smp instead.  There is some truth to the strap thing depending on the watch, I just switched my Willard back to the bracelet, nope back on the rubber for you and I'm usually a bracelet.

Had a Tudor sub from 1975 to 1992. Probably paid more than the original cost in servicing. Gave up on it when the reversing gears died for the 2nd time. Looked at the BB58 but I cant get past the box sapphire crystal that sucks in the edges of the dial. Once you see it you cannot ignore it.

Early in my collecting, like most people, I was far more impressioned by youtube videos.  Now I buy mostly obscure watches that are not often featured in videos.  I respect Tudor as a very solid brand, but none of their models have won me over.

Great advice,  👍

I actually went to my local AD to get a BB58 and walked out with 2 of the new Longines HydroConquests (all black and the boutique exclusive light blue/dark blue) for just about the same exact money.  Awesome watches all, but for the money, the Longines is just amazing.
