An early rise for this one as we had about 6 hours drive a head of us, after arriving at the location we had to ditch the car and hike the rest, which was around an hour and a half hike to the hunting lodge in a very remote part of the Scottish Highlands, soon as we got inside i was amazed with all the old stuff left behind. Archibald Henry Macdonald Sinclair, 1st Viscount Thurso, 1880-1970, the guy lead an amazing life from the trenches of the western front to parliament. a list of achievements as long as your arm and his belonging end up left uncared for in an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere! unreal.

Thanks for bringing this one... the idea of building this house in what appears to be the middle of nowhere is mind boggling... it must have required tremendous effort.

After watching a lot of these old home explore videos, it looks like building massive house's is not a good financial move because the maintenance and up keep are enormous.
To the point were the kids don't want the burden, and a buyer knows it's better to start a new home.
Realy nice explore scotland is such a beautiful country well done Alex.

All those photos needs to be saved, those are irreplaceable family heirlooms! If I was part of the family I would totally go and collect and save all the photos and family mementos.

Its always so sad to see such a once grand building fall into near dereliction, especially houses like this, but I'm grateful that you find, and explore them, Alec.

I'm more interested in the architecture of the house and it's condition than the contents of what former occupants left behind. While the backstory is always interesting, it's also nice to see potential for renovation.

This place would make someone a wonderful home. I hate to see buildings left in this state. If money was no object, I'd certainly do something about it.
