I still wished that we could've had those zombified maps since they looked so cool

I love how we got a more stable GW game, I'm just upset most of this stuff from the showcases and E3 back in the day never made it in, I love GW2, but the GW1 maps just have a charm to em in how they're made.

Also RIP boss themes in GW2 ops

2:18 the devs really grinded for those spawnables

crazy how gw1 could've been so much better if they had put more resources into it, literally the main problem with gw1 is theres not enough content.
Like imagine gw1 with a backyard and with all the extra content that gw2 has, probably wouldve been top 10 games of all time

Building upon an already janky game with an update much larger than the other updates or make a sequel which works better with (most of) those features from the scrapped update?
Well, GW2 is much more popular so I think they made the right choice

You missed out on Imp and Z-Mech along with Robo Zombie. Both are found within the other GW1 stuff showing they most likely got developed with GW1 in mind.

You already know this but it upsets me so much that the zombie takeover theme was wasted as fuck in GW2. Brain street, zombified wallnut hills and driftwood shores would’ve been so so cool to get in GW2 instead of like fucking zen peak, boney island etc.

5:51 it was better to make a new game because honestly, if it was an update, they would have had to make a lot of creative liberties and way more effort. Like, how would the plants make their version of teleporters in the zombie gardens and graveyard maps? Would the team have to make a new class or make one of the existing classes do that? It seemed like it would have been a bigger headache for it to be an update than for it to be a new game entirely

I always thought the Christmas add-ons in December of 2014 counted as the last major update, but thinking about it, I understand why someone would think the opposite.

Never clicked on a video faster

Hearing about what my favorite shooters could've been makes me depressed
Like, you're telling me they could've been even better?

Part of me doesn't want to know about this, the "what if" is just pain.

First, love your oc, very cute 🥰

In my honest opinion, i think Popcap made a mistake making multiple sequels of garden warfare instead of focusing on fleshing out the first game. I understand why they did it, the initial flow of revenue from a sequel was to much to pass up and the higher ups at EA wanted to strike the iron while it was hot, but they weren't thinking long term (considering the state the franchise is in) by having so many multi-player PvZ games coming out in 5 years, they overused the brand and barely updated any of them past the first year of launch. They also have a split playerbase with the ogs playing GW1 and the newer fans playing GW2 and even less in BFN. They had literal gold with GW1 but decided to cut support to make sequels when i dont think i was needed (so early) i think what they should have done was turn GW1 into a League of Legends/Overwatch/Fortnite type game and make it a true live service with updates for many years. I know theres alot problems with this plan like the fact that it would be very difficult to do a  big live service game on PS3/Xbox360 and they would have to figure out how to do this in 2014 or 15 before those other games actually existed yet so there was no blueprint for them to copy accept League, but i think they could have figured something out if they had more clear vision and pushed back harder to keep it just garden warfare (not multiple games) and unfortunately, in terms of the PS3/360 players, we would have to kinda abandon them after Legends of the Lawn and the PS4/Xbox 1 versions would the be the start of GW1 turning into a true live service, but to try and make up for leaving the older consoles behind,  if they upgraded they to newer consoles, they would get the newer version of the game for free and would get some coins. I could also see customization items being sold for coins kinda like Fortnite with Vbucks but you could still earn coins in game. Other stuff like a single player mode could be sold to help bring in additional revenue on top of purchasable customization. So as to whether any of this was possible in 2015, probably not but it's fun to think about what could have been

People would have preferred the update over the whole ass game we got???

I'm personally kind of okay that the zombified versions of maps didn't make it in, however, I really do wish that instead of scrapping it entirely, they would've at least ported some of the original GW maps in their original state as a compromise... i dont know, it seems like a huge waste :(

English video but I was able to understand it perfectly in Portuguese with the audio track option activated

Weevil approved 👍

PvZ Garden Warfear should get NEW Update. i got the rarest skins that cannot obtain anymore. congrats making good video

Everyone who watched this video should hop on garden warfare, one for a mass player return this game is too good to be lost to time

They made the right choice by making a new game but i'm gonna pretend it being an update was better because i would have been able to play it on PS3 all those years ago 😔
