How did an ordinary village boy become Asia's most dangerous criminal of the last 40 years? And then successfully waged guerrilla warfare against two countries at once: India and Sri Lanka. A master of terror and assassination attempts, newspapers would later dub this conflict "India's Vietnam."
The story of the Sun God—a man whose war killed over 100,000 people. A true crime documentary about Asia's longest civil war. In this episode, I'll tell you how Velupillai Prabhakaran founded the Tamil Tigers, built his own state, army, navy, and suicide squads.
How he first fought against the Sri Lankan army, then against a 100,000-strong Indian peacekeeping contingent, survived assassination attempts and betrayals, and terrorized an entire region for 33 years. This is a biographical documentary about power, fanaticism, and the price a country pays when one man considers himself a god.
