This one hit different. Our first time hearing Lulu – To Sir With Love had us completely taken aback by the raw emotion, the grace, and the power of simplicity.

💔 A Song With Real Heart:
You can feel the gratitude and love in her voice. The lyrics hit hard—this isn’t just a farewell, it’s a thank you to a mentor, a father figure, a guide. It’s rare to hear a song this sincere and so elegantly delivered.

🎙️ Lulu = Underrated Legend:
We had no idea a Scottish teenager could deliver a vocal this poised, this moving. Lulu made her mark with this performance—mature beyond her years. Scotland, you did that.

🎞️ Iconic Movie, Iconic Song:
It also made us want to watch the movie To Sir With Love. Between Sidney Poitier’s legacy and this soundtrack, the emotion is timeless.

About a teacher, educating young, unruly, British students about life. Ultimately, earning their respect and "really teaching them". You owe it to yourself to see the movie.

The great Sydney Poitier. During this period he was at his acting peak, and this movie is one of his best.

Sidney Portier was called “Sir” in the movie. He changed their lives and the song is thanking him.

Sidney should've won many Oscar's in his career.

By the way, LULU is the girl in the purple top. The main female of the class is Judy Geeson.
The movie is wonderful, and Sydney Poitier is fabulous.

My uncle George taught Lulu piano when she was a child in Glasgow. The same piano has passed down the family and is now in my daughter's house where our grandsons are now 'playing' it.

Sydney Poitier was a legend, and broke so many barriers for black actors to follow (Denzel etc)

These adolescent high school kids did not know what respect and integrity was until they were taught by this man. Good movie. Great reaction keep up the great work :-)

"The teacher who made a difference" was hardly a new movie trope, but To Sir with Love brought it into the Swinging 60's.

Once you've seen the movie you won't be distracted by the video.

She performed this song 40 years later on American Idol and she looked and sounded as amazing or even better.

Younger people think this movie was about race and it had nothing to do with that. It was about difficult students that society gave up on in many ways. This man came in and found a way to reach them so they became engaged. I worked in a high school for many years and you do see them come in as babies and leave as young adults. This movie and song is a wonderful tribute to those teachers who really helped form your early years.
