Hi,
My name is Kerry and I travelled with my husband, 2 kids and my mum. We had 2 Large balcony rooms one with 3 and one with 2 people. The large balcony rooms were adequate and it was lovely to go and view the port and cities in the morning as well as watching us sail off in the evenings.
This cruise was with Tui flying to Palma and leaving Palma on Saturday the 18th of July. We enjoyed a week on the Marella Explorer and visited different places on this Mediterranean Medley.
Day 1 - Palma
Day 2 - Sea Day
Day 3 - Livorno (Florence & Pisa)
Day 4 - Villefrenche (Monaco & Monte Carlo)
Day 5 - Toulon (Saint-Tropez)
Day 6 - Barcelona
Day 7 - Valencia
Day 8 - Palma (Home or hotel)
We had booked excursions prior to coming out on our cruise and felt more comfortable planning out trips with Tui because we had the 2 young children and wanted to ensure we got back from the likes of Pisa and Florence on time. I'd recommend researching before you go to see what you would like to see and want to prioritise when at the different ports.
Each night with Tui you will get a cruise news leaflet left on your bed when the room staff do the tuck call. This will give you information about the following days ports and give you information on what you can do around the area as well as times that the port will be open from and when you are due to be back on the ship at. You'll use your cruise card to scan in and out daily as well as using it for drinks, trips, buying at the shops, and scanning out when you leave the ship.
I'm not a travel expert and this is my own opinions. I thought it would be helpful to some to see what some of the ports can be like if you were planning on going on a Marella Explorer cruise.
Thank you for watching and if you do have any questions, then please leave them below and I will do my very best to answer them. :)
