Vesper is making valid arguments.

I think what Vesper forgets about Nightmare Moon is that she is Celestia's sister. If Celestia had sent an army, she couldn't have reformed her. Maybe she couldn't bear to face her sister again, thinking that she herself could not heal Luna, but that others could.

Twilight showing her smarts.

7:17 "Dragons are Dangerous"
Twilight "That's Speciest"
Me "Dangerous and Evil aren't the same thing. A Hurricane is dangerous, a Shark is dangerous, neither are Evil. The Same logic can be applied to the Dragon. He wasn't Evil, and the girls didn't know how to communicate properly to begin with.

To be honest, evil twilight is not wrong. But she is also giving wrong examples. Nigthmare moon was a risk. Sending someone to a town hoping for them to make friends and accidentally happen to be bearers of the elements of harmony? Bit of a stretch. No one was prepared for nightmare moon. But Celestia could have used elements of harmony by herself. No, even better. She could have solved the problem when it had arisen. With friendship. Before deciding to send her on a thousand years of exile on the moon. All the villains? She should have made teaching about them mandatory in schools as part of history. This way ponies meeting evil or suspicious behaviours could have reported on it way quicker and a lot could have been avoided. Maybe even shinning armor could have recognised something wrong with Cadance by somepony noticing that he is affected by Chrysalis' magic. Saying that all the dangers were tests was a lazy explanation. Bad one. Celestia knows how many bad decisions she made. She didn't show worry. Instead choosing to act like it was all a part of a plan. She is incompetent in matters of helping others. It was shown when she got excited after fighting with everfree and suddenly wanted to help. Wanted but had no clue how. Because she didn't do it for so long she didn't know how to help. She has been through the whole time taking care of Canterlot okay. But she is a ruler. She could have set people to help her with paperwork when she is out protecting the lands SHE IS THE RULER OF. And the last season? She basically decided to drop everything on Twilight's shoulders. And if G5 is a cannon continuation, seeing how twilight ended up smaller and had sealed all the magic, means that Twilight tried her best but failed. Had to seal the magic and the elements were gone. For good. And who wants to bet Luna and Celestia didn't do a thing? We saw Twilight back in a small form. Meaning she didn't just seal the magic. She used all her power for it. If Twilight had stayed a princess of friendship while Luna and Celestia wouldn't basically say "we are bored of being alicorns and doing our duty", she could probably have found the danger long before it ever started. And that brings me to the last bit. Celestia is an Alicorn. She could have solved most issues herself due to her life experience. She could have trained herself, and grew in strength for a thousand years against Luna. Not just her. For equestria's sake. She chose to not do it. To push the memory back, not accepting responsibility. Something she loves to do.

Im going to be dead serious here: I ADORE Celestia. But in all honesty evil twilight is right. Many people think that Nightmare Moon and Daybreak are their evil forms. Not really. They are their corrupted forms. Forms corrupted by hate. You can do evil things without knowing it. Due to ignorance. One of such things is hoping that every problem will go away if you toss a filly against it. Another is stepping down from the role you took and pushing all your work onto somepony with already full hooves. Her worst ever decision though was never going with her. Even sending someone to observe and report. So if something goes wrong she could help. The whole show she got her tail handed to her. As much as i love Celestia, in all honesty SHE IS incompetent. And its because of that she used Twilight for all the problems and seeing it works she put all the responsibilities on her in the end. Abandoning the role she took as a responsibility. Abandoning even raising the sun. Her innate ability. (We know it because she gave twilight a device to do it instead of her and Luna). Luna is no better allowing this all to happen.

3:14 umm, celestia didn't actually send twilight or the other girls, twilight was just there for the summer sun celebration and the girls went with her out of free will😅

Ah, the day-old "Is Celestia truly a good leader or a wicked Tyrant?" debate...

Personally, I subscribe to the ideology of Celestia truly being able to wipe the floor with all who opposed her yet she chose not to for the sake of Twilight's development. It's not evil or tyrannical, it's strategic because what teaches us growth more than anything than being faced with the possibility that, if we don't succeed, we lose it all?

2:17 😨 I hate to say it, but, Vesper has a really good point.

Also, as Twilight said, her intimate knowledge of her life, but also how she referred to her friends. She didn't call Pinkie "the pink" one, or "the party lover", she knew her name, and offered to disrespect or shade. It all comes across and a misplaced sense of care, an angry attempt at help

Wow cool right

I have to point out a single incorrect statement Twilight makes about dragons. It is not speciesist to state a dragon is dangerous to a pony. It is a biological fact. A wolf is dangerous to a mouse, even if it does not actively hunt mice. It would be specieist to claim all Dragons are evil, stupid, or violent. But it is not so to claim that due to their anatomical design, they are dangerous.

I miss this show so much.

At 13:01, something in the video skipped over.

Hehe Twilight was just completely right from my perspective.

On a more metaphorical level vesper reminds me of the aspects that grow within us when we have unresolved trauma. How it paints the world in a more negative light and affects perception.

This also reminds me of the conversation I was having  in the mirror with myself and I 20 minutes ago.

Vesper was totally right, Celestia is a lame ruler, no matter when or how you see it, yes, some things are unpredictable, but she hide information from twilight, she risked her safety for nothing more than "a lesson".

Matter of fact, she risked a lot more than just twilight, she put twilight's friends on dangerous situations.

I mean, clearly Celestia could at least have given them directions or information. And the fact that "she was probably busy" is not a valid argument; what kind of mentor wouldn't care about her student and successor safety?

It's understandable that as a ruler, she has responsibilities, but those responsibilities are a minor matter compared to the safety of your closest student. Seriously, the responsibilities of royalty matter more than the life of your student and future successor?

She had resources, at the very least. It would be convenient if the girls on those missions were prepared with equipment or even prior knowledge to avoid problems. A dragon? Okay, what do you think of an anti-fire spell? Yes, it's a dragon, but it doesn't really matter. You should take preventative measures in case something bad happens to you.

Vesper could clearly be a result of that; it's even possible that one of those missions ended badly due to a poor decision, or because Celestia withheld information, or because the mission was more risky to handle to Twilight and company.

If she isn't omnipresent and omniscient, what about all the alert and notification methods we've seen? She often even ignores Twilightlight's letters. If she can't always be on top of Twilight, what better way to communicate with her than through an direct emergency method betther than using spike to send letters?

Even if Twilight's  friends weren't ready, what better way than to train them too? To give them training or equip them with skills in certain military activities. Even in that, Vesper is right; Celestia had 1000 years of preparation. What better way to be prepare than to create a more capable army? With unicorns of magical or powerful lineages, exceptional pegasus in their ranks, and ponies capable of using magical tools to aid in their fight. Dozens of magical artifacts have been seen that will literally serve that purpose perfectly.

Where she lost to Discord and came back for the amulet...?🤔

"Even pinkie pie?" 1:41

Woah @12:35 did this version of twilight rip her wings off? I see switches where your wings would be

Why am I discovering that just now, that’s so cool

This was VERY well made. Like it's from the actual series!!
