This was such a wild ride! What was your reaction? What is your Answer rating (1-5)?

Let me tell you, there wasn't a soul in the theaters that wasn't laughing, cheering, and/or screaming at the ending 😂😂😂😂😂

It's a great detail that Archer doesn't tell his kid he loves him and his kid is the bully...

13:18 Oak turning back to the screen right before the jump scare was unfortunate for him, great for us

Alex not only had to feed 19 people everyday but also probably had to take care of bathroom duties for all of them as well.
That poor kid is gonna need years of therapy.

The kids chasing & attacking Gladys might be the best scene in the movie because its a very fitting end for a villain!

@jaealxndr 1 year ago

in the theatre when the druggie sees gladys waving in the woods someone in mine yelled “oh hell na” 😭😭😭

@erica.aguilar 1 year ago

This was the MOST FUN THEATRE EXPERIENCE!!! Everyone screamed or laughed in unison at every appropriate time!! This movie built tension so fn well.

So the running actually has an explanation. There is a famous photo of a young kid in Vietnam who tore off all of her clothes after being hit by napalm. In the photo, she has her arms out to her side and down slightly as she runs. Zach Cregger said that was the main inspiration for the pose of the run, and it made the possessed people really uncanny since it's such an unnatural way to run

when i tell you that car door opening got the loudest gasp i've ever heard in a movie theater 14:45 😭

The guy who played the addict did it so damn well. My brother (rest his soul) was an addict, and I had that exact conversation about "getting a new job and need new shoes".

Fun fact: To further capitalize on the themes of the movie, theaters listed showtimes at 2:17, the same time the children in the film vanish.

Aunt Gladys’ biggest mistake was doing the spell in front of Alex

@gracemon2oe 1 year ago

I so appreciate Answer cracking up at Archer’s “WHAT THE FUCK,” my friend and I were the only ones in our theater who lost our shit laughing. It’s such a hilarious and valid response. 😂

@chance757 1 year ago

this was so fun in theaters!! the collective HORROR when alex’s mom opened justine’s door, the screams at the gladys jump scares and last but not least, the glee during the chase scene at the end; all amazing moments that’ll definitely stick with me haha!

honorable mentions for the groans at justine following alex home and the agreements when josh yelled out wtf 🤣🤣

@notanoracle2053 1 year ago

You guys commented how the boundaries have changed since you were in school, and I think it's pretty interesting how much that may've actually affected Alex's life. No community whatsoever to realize the kid was going trough something, and the one person who did was seen as pushy.

@josemartinez-nj7kv 1 year ago

The young actor playing alex , cary christopher is such a great actor for his age. I cant wait to see what he does next.

@neellie9474 1 year ago (edited)

Gladys told Marcus Alex's mom was her baby sister, and she's his aunt. But when the parents were telling Alex about her in his POV, they said she was Alex's mom's aunt, and that his grandmother took care of her when his mom was little. Meaning, she's probably been alive a very long time, using that specific family line and seeing them once or twice in their lifetime, so she can weasel her way in. She was keeping Alex alive for the next generation. That's why even though she promised Alex she'd leave after she'd get better, she told Alex they were leaving together. She never planned to let him go.

Fun fact: Netflix was ready to pay more money upfront than New Line, but an assured theatrical release and New Line's track record with horror were the better selling points.

After seeing this in the theater and SCREEEAMING when at the Gladys ceiling jumpscare, I feel reassured seeing the folks at the table leap out of their chairs when that scene hit
