I’ve been using Hello Interview since they launched a couple of years ago, and their content is phenomenal for interview prep. Kudos to Evan and Stephan for building this and keeping the majority of the resources free—it is an invaluable tool for engineers, particularly at the Senior and Staff levels.

Precision: They cover all high-level concepts and critical areas with impressive clarity and brevity.

My 2 cents for Staff/Senior Staff Candidates:
As an ex-Meta engineer myself, my recommendation is to supplement this content by studying the internal architecture diagrams of at least one product you plan to deep-dive. This is crucial when cross-questioning starts to get granular. Additionally, be prepared to justify your tool selection—you should be able to clearly articulate why you’d choose Apache Kafka over SQS, RabbitMQ, or Apache Pulsar for a specific use case.

Amazing summary of message queues! I'd appreciate a deep dive on the idempotency portion of things and more examples on how consumers can be made idempotent

Great content.
I personally, like to seperate consumption and processing. Consumption is just reading/polling the bytes/message in, and processing is the execution of the logic. When you talked about at-least once delivery garauntee, you said, idempotent consumer, a better term would be idempotent processing.

I was going to use caching in an interview for a problem but with limitation because of stale data some data might now be eligible for cache but now I will use worker as it solves all those issues. Thank you for this crystal clear concept.
