For me the E46 M3 and E39 M5 were the peak of M cars. They were in their day, incredible.

Last year I got myself 2003 e39 m5, and I would never want to switch it to g90. Even if I could afford it.

I was lucky enough to meet Tiff Needal once whilst filming for 5th gear, I asked him if he could have any car in the word what would it be, he said the E39 in a heartbeat. He said you could track it in the morning with great results then take the family shopping in the afternoon with it. He was a lovely guy, always had time to chat.

In 10-15 years the E39 will be worth more than the G90.

The E39 for me was the last good looking Beemer for at least 15 years. The Beemers from this era were so wonderfully balanced in their styling as well. Understated but still attractive. The E39 would be my choice.
