As a Fractal user myself...it really doesn't matter what you go for at this point. They all sound absolutely fantastic. Go with what interface you prefer and what your wallet wants. I would be happy with all of them truth be told.

Axe FX has mentioned that their next unit will have a touch screen. Thanks for the excellent video!
For a local gigging cover band, the Stadium XL will do just fine for me. In a band mix it will be hard to tell the difference between both units. They are both great! The lines are starting to blur between all the modelers now!!!

Looking forward to learning the differences and usage/sound demonstrations of these units. I wouldn't know where to start otherwise.

I think while you were making the fractal preset, you can go straight across from the output of input 1 to the output and it hooks everything up in the same row

Stadium all the way, warmer more organic sounding to my ears

Good job at dialing in a good tone on both of the units! but, fractal for the win!!

Hey brother! Sorry for being late to the video! I absolutely enjoyed it!

In your vid they both sound fine. I would choose the Fractal because of the deep dive capabilities. You never see vids on how those deep dives in the amp block can really make the tone yours instead of sounding like everybody else.

The Fractal has a clarity I did not hear in the helix. IMO the Fractal takes this one!

Axe 3. There’s a reason they’re used on main rigs. Wish I could get access to their code base as that would reveal the secret to the accuracy in their algorithm. Most modelers are pretty good. They’re almost the real thing.

That little lick you okay from 11:14 to 11:23 is great lol. I hear it in a lot of your videos. It sounds like a entrance song to "The Guitar Hero" 😂. 🤘

This is the video I was looking for. Great quality as always, but I’m still not quite sure what to do (that’s a me issue obviously). I’ve been looking at getting a modeler for a while and I want to get the best tone, but I feel completely in over my head in terms of learning curve, dialing it in, etc. I want the easiest plug and play unit and the easiest to download profiles from creators like yourself and get those up and running in the shortest and easiest method as possible. Can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack for a beginner!

Honestly, I favor Stadium here, but not by much and both sound great. Anybody claiming either sounds "digital" or "fake" or "plastic" is insane. The REVV Purple channel is a bit of a cheat code.

I am downsizing my studio and selling off my tube amps so looking to get a Fractal Axe FX III rack mount for easier recording.

I’m new to your channel.  I love your playing and content.  I have an Axe-FX iii and FM-9.  In your video I think the Fractal and Helix Stadium XL both sound fantastic.

What kind of guitar are you playing?

I love my Fractal FM 9 !!!!!

So I actually have a Helix Stadium XL now and it is a great device however there are some big limitations and some not so great things to compare to Fractal. First Fractal has true gapless switching and it has a buffer allowing for good transitions when switching scenes and channels. The Helix Stadium is more abrupt when switching snapshots it is not a big deal but definitely something to consider. Fractal manages all the DSP and tasking of blocks, Stadium makes you manage the balancing of the DSP. This is a bigger deal than it initially seems to be the reason being is that since Fractal manages everything in an optimal way it actually has a higher DSP ceiling even when it has the same DSP power which is true for the FM9 as compared to the Stadium XL. Stadium XL has issues with going from clean and acoustic snapshots to high gain snapshots. If you're not careful you will get a "woosh" or "bang" sound and you will need to A/B sections of the preset and use snapshots to manage the A/B. This is not a huge deal but again it takes time and with the Stadium you will also need to make sure the levels are very close between snapshots, the leveling is required even for Fractal but there are tools in FM Edit that help with this. Also, if your doing classic rock and are doing multiple guitar parts like acoustic to high gain lead etc. you will run into DSP limits so something like "Stairway to Heaven" with 8 snapshots and 6 and 12 string acoustic parts will hit the limit and you will need to drop back down to the legacy amps. I might have to trade mine in even though I have squeaked by so far with a lot of time spent tweaking. I do love a lot of the features of the Stadium XL, it is a brilliant device if they only took a bit more care with how they manage snapshot transitions, did gapless presets, and added a bit more DSP it would be a solid competitor with any of the competition including Fractal.

Fractal all the way

Fantastic video thanks so much. I want the Fractal FM9 but will probably end up with the Stadium XL for the financing. The good news on the Stadium is it can handle a group of players very well, saw a demo where everything flowed through the Stadium XL and it will take a mic input, and it can be made to control lightinng ha ha. I do think the FM9 sounds better and is more efficient with the DSP load and think the computer software Axe Edit is better too.

Big thanks for using stock cabs!!! 😍 Like most of us consumers do.
However the 121 mic in the AxeFX III was not enabled right?
