Tressis' chief economist, Daniel Lacalle, appeared on the program "El Cascabel" to analyze the impact of the latest housing decrees approved by the Council of Ministers. During his appearance, the expert argued that these measures do not represent a real solution to the problem of housing affordability in Spain, but rather exacerbate the legal uncertainty for landlords.

According to Lacalle's analysis, the current regulatory framework is causing a drastic reduction in the housing supply. "The housing law has removed more than 300,000 homes from the long-term rental market," asserted the economist, who emphasized that the penalties ultimately harm the most vulnerable groups, such as young people, families with children, and workers who frequently relocate.

The expert warned that the lack of legal guarantees renders contractual relationships agreements without effective validity. "Anyone who signs a rental agreement is essentially signing a worthless piece of paper," stated the chief economist of Tressis, while also pointing out that respect for private property and compliance with contracts are fundamental to protecting lower-income households.
