"i'm a teacher and you're a student" after violating him first is crazy, you can't make jokes if you can't take them too

@foxgaming1759 1 year ago

A teacher getting pressed at “You look like megamind” is the biggest joke in this series so far 💀

@vegalyra1517 1 year ago

Lets be honest, the teacher shouldn't dish it out if he can't take it himself.

First science teacher deserved it tbh.
Made fun of him saying no one else would want to work with him then when he said it back sent him out.

Weird.

I’m sorry but the way that Scott was dealt with I don’t agree with. He literally said you don’t know what’s going on and they didn’t even find out what was happening and just scolded him, then to see him cry silently is not usual for a 15YO. I am a teacher myself and honestly I just wanted to give him a hug!

Scott's face when the teacher made that jab broken my heart. You could see his eyes go so sad instantly. Alexa has a mature head on her, what a wee soul!

I feel so bad for Scott because that was clearly a cry for help nobody is hearing and it’s so sad

Teacher here - not enough listening is going on from the staff here. 1. that first teacher said something in front of an entire class that was aimed at embarrassing a student - to take the piss out of him, that's not professional whatsoever, then he's telling the student off about boundaries? Teacher needs to reflect. There's a joke, then there is a joke at someone elses expense. Know your students.

Secondly, that young lad has way more going on than a friend group issue, no teenage boy gets so frustrated that he starts to silently cry if they aren't in a pressure-cooker of emotions that run deeper. The approach of the head teacher was too harsh from the get go, not enough of a pastoral/student-centred approach. Why is he reacting like that? What can you do as a professional institution to support that student, and teach him how to cope with his emotions. Can we try a more human approach before going straight to disciplinarian? Or even just speak to him with some respect, not in a way that will make him feel demeaned and even worse.

You can, and should, be tough on students and hold them to high standards, especially when it comes to behaviour - but we can do that and look at the whole picture as well, and do it in a supportive way so the student feels that we're doing this FOR them not TO them.

Really sad to see tbh.

No teacher has the right to threaten to take a kids’ out of school activities away from him. What a belter.

That science teacher seriously needs to be looked at. That was such an insensitive and nasty comment he made, but then he can’t take an innocent joke and tells the student to go outside? Hypocrisy at its finest.

4:25 is completely unfair. Wdym "I'm the teacher so I can say what I want" If anything the teacher should be respecting the students and not abusing their authority to embarrass the kids in front of the class. Scott is not the one crossing the line here it's the teacher.

@cookieswirl45777 1 year ago

Him saying he's a teacher not a children's entertainer or comedian is so ironic because he made fun of a student at the expense of looking like the cool teacher 😂😂😂

@F32995 1 year ago (edited)

That teacher is an embarrassment. I'm a secondary school teacher and like to have that kind of banter with the kids, but as people have said - if you're going to give it out, you have to take it. The kids need to know where the boundary/line is, and the poor lad here clearly has no idea given how the teacher moves it quicker than you can say "Megamind".

@Hedwig15 1 year ago

8:26 this part is pmo. “I think you’ll be surprised how much I do know is going on” what a stupid thing to say to a young person who is clearly struggling.

@Kieran-ALT24 1 year ago (edited)

I don't know that I want to watch this show anymore, I lost a lot of respect for this school. That first kid Scott was just straight up being bullied by the teacher. Respect to the lad for apologizing, but an apology should have come from that teacher at the very least.

I miss the old style of filming. The older series felt “fly on the wall”. These new episodes feel crafted around hot topic issues. Anxiety, behaviour. It’s hard to explain but it feels guided rather than genuine.

@chickenstrips495 1 year ago

bro takes the micky out of scot then gets it back and kicks him out guy cant take a joke

@shouldntve 1 year ago

I mean, Scott's joke comparing the teacher to Megamind was clearly a playful comeback and far less insulting than the teacher’s own comment! As a teenager, I would have been humiliated if an adult said in front of the whole class that no one wanted to work with me, even as a joke!! You can tell it hurt Scott's pride a little, so he clapped back, but sending him out afterwards was the teacher shutting down a situation they themselves had created! As someone who works with kids, if you don’t want them making jokes about you, model those standards yourself 💁
