I love the part where he comes out to his mother and she says do you think I would throw you out like an old bottle. So touching.

One of the first gay movies I’ve seen. It touched me so deeply because I was a gay teen just like them! I remember feeling so moved while watching it! I’ll love it forever!

You have to watch the whole movie, it’s more than just 2 gay dudes, it’s a cultural representation of England at the time, the side characters are just as important

I remember watching this as a young teen and struggling with being gay - this movie gave me hope that I’d eventually find love as I got older

This movie will always hold a place in my heart. Like many other gay teens, it really connected with me back in the 90s. It's fantastic and I think of it whenever I hear "Make Your Own Kind of Music." Never fails.

This movie changed my life saw it as a teenager in the late 90s happened to just catch it out on cable. Was 17 at the time and literally I came out the closet the very next day to my mom because of this film. I identified with both lead characters so much. It’s a beautiful coming of age story and it truly means a lot to me.

I saw this when I was a teenager, and then about a year later the university in my city had their theatre students out on the stage production of this story, so I went to watch it with the girl friend I had come out to. Good times.

One of the best….First watched this movie when I was a shy frightened teenager in the 90’s and it made my coming out all the better. Beautiful story, perfectly cast and one of the most important movies of my generation.

I was 19 years old in 1996 when I first saw this movie and I still love it. It reminds me of a time when I was young and not out yet and the joys of being raised by a very loving and understanding single mother.

I went three times, in one week, to see this film in the cinema when it came out in 1996.

I can’t believe this movie is 30 years old! I remember seeing it when it was in cinema, and running out to buy the soundtrack. It’s such a sweet story, and the neighbor girl is so hilarious. 🌈🍸🌈
