Canada had to start enforcing laws on labelling maple syrup, basically if it's not 100% pure maple syrup, they're not allowed to called it maple syrup. Then can call it maple flavoured syrup (usually, the "flavoured" is in tiny tiny fonts, but still allowed). Maybe the UK should do the same with honey!!

I've been watching your channel for years. I swear your videos heal something in my soul

Alex’s favourite part of filming is getting the 🐝 roll.

Knowing how much work goes into it, by hand, by independent/small local producers, the 8 or 9 quid we pay seems like a fair price.

I’m a flight attendant and a beekeeper. I’ve started collecting honey from all over the world.

I've been watching your videos since you started bee keeping. You have come a long way so I know how much you love bee keeping. I loved watching you and your dad turn your yard into beautiful santuaries. Can't wait for your next video.

Dear Alex!
I’ve been watching you for several years now, and I’m constantly amazed by the diverse and interesting content you continue to create. You don’t even need to come up with video ideas, they come naturally with each stage of your life, and it’s wonderful to see your growth. I’m so happy to see your channel expanding and your content getting even better, and I’m glad you have sponsors too :)

As an Australian, I didn't realise how expensive Manuka honey would be in other countries ... It's quite common here where I live in South East Queensland <3

Every time I watch one of your beekeeping videos I go to the kitchen and get a big spoonful of honey😂

I live in Moldova, we are a small country but we have a significant honey-producing abilities with a long beekeeping traditions,  and our honey is one of its better-known agricultural exports. I buy honey from people I know in person, they have their own bees and this is a small family business. Here are the prices for this year's honey:

Acacia honey - 720 ml (1 kg) - €8.95
May honey - 720 ml (1 kg) - €8.45
Rapeseed honey - 720 ml (1 kg) - €5.47
Raw bee pollen - 100 g - €2.49, 1 kg - €22.37
Royal jelly - 10 g - €24.85
Acacia zabrus (honeycomb cappings) - 430 ml (approx. 600 g) - €4.97

I’m selling my first spring Midsomer harvest this year in Massachusetts for about $12 for a 8 ounce jar and people think it’s ridiculous but the fact of the matter is the honey you produce is far superior than the honey in the supermarket

I think a blind test of the different honeys would be a much better and more represantable test. Only knowing which honey you are eating influences the taste enormously.

Dear Alex, try to use a non-metallic spoon, and taste the difference. Honey is acidic, you should feel a difference caused by the lack of acidic reaction and enzyme oxidation. Thank you for a most informative video!

not bought supermarket honey in like 10 years. i have a couple local honey people and i always get theirs. support local and keep my little rural village alive

Always waiting for new beekeeping video's. ❤🎉

In certain areas and communities, they hold entire events around honey, because of a variety of regional honeys produced by local bee keepers, which are varied from conditions they were produced in, areas they were collecting nectar in, what sorts of wild flowers were in the area and many many many more.
Such events often sell abundance of various bee products from raw honey and honeycombs, to products 5 steps down the line, like skin care products, candles, honey covered treats and pastries and all sorts of stuff.

Those large scale honey producers can't even hold a candle to amount of love and care people have for honey.

Thank you for this education! As the spouse of a bee keeper I know firsthand how expensive it is to keep bees.  We do it for the relaxation! Which is funny as sometimes it is far from relaxing! Still a fascinating hobby! Bees are so amazing!

We need to remember that production is not for making money.
In this case it's for making honey
Profit is meant to be a biproduct of doing a thing well

I make a point now of only buying honey that I can trace all the way to the source in the UK. Last lot was bought from a shop in Llanberis where I could also sample it. Expensive but worth it. Bought 3 jars all with completely different, and delicious flavour profiles.  Just like bottles of wine, honey varies from season to season also. Source your local beekeeper! Your tastebuds will thank you. Totally worth the extra cost.
