Malcolm is an easy guy to like. Time will tell, but I think this will be a classic case of someone learning from loss and coming back stronger than ever. I'll be rooting for him!

Love how candidly he admits expecting the UFC to throw him a short-notice showcase, and how foolish that assumption was (even though they often do). His ko run was impressive and the Ewing fight was great despite the loss.

He's still got a fan in me!

Maaaaan... Ben Henderson lookin' young AF !

Ppl say fraud checked... I think this dude wont lose another one for a while

I have a feeling we will see Ewing Vs Wellmaker 2 one day…

Win or lose, I’m still staying on the hype train for Wellmaker

He’s self-aware and shows great maturity to admit to his immaturity. Looking forward to seeing him back.

It's good to see Malcolm is in good spirits and has admitted to his faults after the fight was over. Continuing to stay humble will go a long way to eventually becoming champ.

this guy so honest and humble, a real treat for mma fans to get such a candid look at what it means to be a fighter

Complete honesty..thats rare. He will be back.

So humble and charismatic. Dude will definitely be the bantamweight champ someday and then I could def see him being a commentator in the future

17:22 I met Sage Northcutt and he's literally a human golden retriever. Another Wonderboy Thompson, never understood the hate on that guy.

These interviews after a tough loss are what really make me a huge fan.

I was indifferent towards Izzy until watching his interviews after some of his tough losses.

I’m really excited to watch his next fight. I love that he identified specific, actionable tweaks to his preparation that he’s excited to implement.

Man I have more respect for Malcolm even more now.  Tough to find a fighter at his level with that much self awareness and honesty.  Kids gonna grow and be a bigger monster

Malcolm Wellmaker is so honest and true to himself and he’s his realness comes across to all of us. That is a characteristic that shines through and can’t be faked. He has what it takes to be a star in this game and the people will get behind him win or lose.

dayum this whole interview just made me like him a lot more. will be rooting for him 100% from now on

This sport is so tough - soon as you lose (mind you this is FIGHTING so that usually involves getting physically messed up busted nose/black eye/concussion) you don’t just have to deal with the feeling of losing you gotta deal with every casual fan breaking out their phone and calling you washed up or derailed hype train etc  just crazy

So well spoken and honest. I don't think any less of Malcolm from the loss, I just think very highly of Ethyn now. Can't wait for both of their next fights, and hopefully, we get a rematch a couple of years from now.

Wow to admit he thought the UFC was just feeding him because he knows his worth and how marketable he is, takes a lot of guts. You can’t hate the guy

Probably one of the brightest personalities in the UFC. I will say after his first interview where he said, “I’m gonna try and KO him in 3 min with a right hand.” I bet on Ewing by Dec. in the event that Malcolm couldn’t find that shot on a tough in shape striker.
